Workout Equipment

Hi, Cathe....I am a 55 year "young" woman and have just had foot surgery(bunionectomy). Before I had the surgery I used to run at 5:00 A.M. on the treadmill for 30 mins, take long walks after work and do upper body weight training (5lbs). Since the surgery I have been so inactive and feel like such a blob! I happened to see you on FitTV and couldn't believe how your lower body & upper body pyramid workouts were so challenging and gave you such muscle tone. So I have decided that as soon as my foot heals I am going to start working out with your videos. I know I will have to start slow as the most weight I ever worked out with was 5 lbs so I will definitely not be able to do all the reps, but I feel if I work at it, I will eventually work up to more. One question I have is where do I get the exercise bench with the high steps that you use. I only see one step for sale with a 6" height with the long bench attached. Is there a way to buy the step and get additional risers?

Well, thanks for taking time to read this (if you do) and if not, I am still going to work out with you very soon! I saw a Reebock step and perhaps that would work.

Thanks for making working out challenging but fun!

Not Cathe, but wanted to say...

Welcome, Doreen!! You can get several different steps right here on Cathe's website. (Just go to the shop area.) The original club length step, the High Step, as well as the shorter "home version" of the Step. (I believe you can get this one in pink, to support breast cancer research!!). You can also get extra risers, slanted risers, etc.

As for the other equipment you will need, I can't really say since I haven't done my own 1 rep maximum test yet. However; that may be what you want to do next (when you're recuperated enough to do that, I mean!). That seems to me the best way to see what weights you will need to have.

Hope that helps,

Tricia
