WORKOUT 5/29

Dutchie42

Cathlete
Hi girls,

Really dreaded going for a run today after Thursdays very bad run. Didn't want to run. Didn't have much time either. And it's an uncomfortable hot day today. Anyways, I went and ran a whole 10K long run. My first one. No 1min walk breaks. Or doesn't it count if you stop twice to have a sip of water? Took me 73:13min. Had a nice stretch in the shade in my back garden.

I noticed the weirdest thing today. I was flipping through my workout log and saw that whenever I didn't want to run for whatever reason, that's when I have done my best runs. And if I wanted to run, looked forward to a run, those were my worst runs. Now is that strange or what...:)

Something else weird is happening too. I have been trying to loose at least 8pounds for the past 18 months or so. No luck at all. So a week ago I thought, well, I am quitting this clean eating thing cause it is getting me nowhere. I have had croissants, french fries, spare ribs, cookies, etc. Yesterday after dinner I even had a big Belgium waffle. Guess what, I lost almost 2 pounds in one week!! I'll let you know if this keeps up. It's the perfect diet :) :)

Hello Everyone!

Dutchie, I guess when you don't want to run you are actually a lot more relaxed because you don't care and maybe perform better. But I don't get the diet thing. The last wek I actually paid a lot of attention to my eating and lost the same 2 lb. Who knows.... Now I'm 126, maybe one day I'll be 125...Oh My.

I had a gerat wo today. I altered P90X Kenzo and did 30 min rowing instead w/10 min HIIT. After that AbRipper and KPCabs. Feeling like a million dollar today! The rowing machine can kick my butt like nothing else. Every single muscle in my body is working including my face.}( }(

Happy Memorial Day to you guys!

Happy Memorial Day to you all,

This morning the scale said 124 (24fat%) and I would love to go down to my pre-accident weight of 115 pounds. But I would settle for 120 pounds. The weight loss is strange, isn't it. I am still doing my strength training 3xweek. So it's no muscle loss.

Another week or so and I know first hand what you mean with Kenzo. Still don't get that HIIT thing.

Dutchie

Sorry... Kenzo is a sort of kick-boxing thing in P90X. I'm not so good at kicking so I did rowing. I get a much better workout like that. HIIT is High Intensity Interval Training. The last 10min of my rowing was like this: 1 min easy - 1 min very hard (purple face ready to puke hr 174 - then 1 min easy again - 1 min hard. A real butt kicker.

<purple face ready to puke>

I can just see you sitting there.... :) :)

My face was bright red when I came in from my run. We'd make a colourful couple :) :)

I did Lisa Gaylord's Reebok Power Blast today. A really late workout for me, I was down another half a pound this morning so I am happy.:7 :D Middle son had tennis this afternoon and the other 2 boys had swimming lessons this morning and we had a siding guy come to give us an estimate. Busy busy day!!

Have a great one!!:)

Forgot to add I did the abs off of PSSL&Abs also.:+ :)

I agree with Mari, Dutchie about the running and it is a very good idea for you to keep that kind of a log. Sounds like all of you had a good workout today. I am reading a bit about the Kenpo workout before doing it. Cathe was the first Kickboxing I ever did...but this sounds fun. Okay...not fair I weigh more than you guys!!...but then again I am working on that...:7 ...I'll post back later after the workout...:)...Carole

Today I had an unplanned rest day. I was cleaning around the house. Even my cat got a bath (I spent like 45 mins struggling with that LOL) When it came time to do Power Circuit and a little bit of pilates I was too tired so I'll do that tomorrow. I'll be more rested and ready to give it my all. Happy Memorial Day to everybody.

I'm loving these daily check-ins.

-PS The low carb thing didn't work for me either it's good to have a cookie once in awhile (or almost daily for that matter).

Oh my....do you really bathe your cat?...I am quite impressed Rose. As for the Kenpo...it was fun although I think KPC is harder, but I'll give this one another try...maybe I was just being lazy...:)...the Zone actually worked for me for a few years....but now LOTS of fruits and vegeys and no saturated fat....:)...down 7 lbs.....Carole

I have a homemade workout log. The even pages are a xtraining log (for Cathe w/o and soon P90X w/o) and the odd pages are for running. There is room to add info from my HRM, perceived rating of the w/o and comments. And at the running page ofcourse mileage, pace and temp. I don't have a section for food though. I have also added a page for personal records, you know when did I first do craze 8's all the way through, or when did I first run a 10K long run, that kind of stuff. There is also a page for my annual goals and every 3 months I have added a page for quarter goals. I have blank pages to glue pictures and newspaper clippings, Cathe w/o pictures, etc. I found a Garfield cartoon on exercises and glued it in :) For running I have a page that lists just the numbers and it gives a very nice overview of how I progress on the one page. And I have a page that lists all w/o ratings per week. I write down my sick days or when I was tired. Very useful, cause it gives the sort of info like I am tired because I haven't had a rest day in two weeks.

As a cover page I recently added a copy of a picture of myself crossing the finish line at a 5K fun race:)

I like flipping through it. Highly motivating to see where I was and where I am now.

Had a great workout this a.m., couldn't decide what cardio to do so I did cardio from 10/10/10 then RS Challenge then the back half of IMAX2. I'm still nursing an injury so my plyo moves are pretty wimpy but coming along. I did lots of modifying but worked hard none-the-less. The sun was beaming into the family room as I stretched and it felt wonderful. I'll work in the garden a little and then we're off to see SHREK 2.
Bathing a cat sounds like a workout unto itself ;), you're a braver woman than I Rosie :) . I'll be on Dutchie's Diet today as it's my daughter's b-day and around my house we figure 'it's all just killin' time between cake'!!:+

Enjoy your long weekend all!!
Take Care

We have two dogs and a cat. Of course the dogs have to be bathed more often, but the cat is white and it needs a bath once in awhile because it can turn yellowish/pinkish. LOL

I always say I'm going to start Zoning but because I had such a so-so experience with Atkins I always hesitate. I'm happy with my weight, but I would like to have a consistent way of eating and I don't. Hopefully I'll find a way x(
