OK I have a question not sure if I can get it to come out right but here it goes...... ok I know you are not supposed to do weights 2 days in a row using the same muscles, now is doing say BootCamp, Circuit Max - the interval cardio & weights workouts, can these be done back to back ? OR do we need a rest day or just plain cardio after this ? I am confused, hope someone can help =)

RE: Question for using weights & intervals ?

If you plan on doing the workouts "as is," you should leave a day in between workouts. But you could do them back-to-back if you heavy up on lower body one day (going very light on upper body) and heavy up on upper body the next day (going very light, or no weights, on lower body). I wouldn't do this for more than 2 consecutive days, though.

That's the conservative advice, but there is a training philosophy called (something I can't remember at the moment, but there was a question about it on the "ask Cathe" forum a while ago...hoping it will come to me if I keep typing....NO ;( !!) which has you train the lower body with light weights every day, in order to burn calories while keeping muscle hypertrophy (growth) to a minimum. It's used by figure skaters, for example, to keep their legs strong but lean.
