working out on vacation

do you do this or do you just take a break? I am thinking of buying one of those 7" DVD players to take to the hotel with me. I think it would also be nice for the kids to get to watch their movies all the way to Disneyland (eight hours, the kids are five and nine--no patience. Does anyone own one of those things---what do you think of it? Thank you.

I just took ours on vacation. I bought a splicer jack so that 2 headphones could listen at the same time (less arguing). They used it while waiting for our flight and then on the plane and even a little at our vacation home. It is perfect for the car, too.

I would definitely recommend this purchase! The 7" screen is best. Don't be tempted to buy a smaller screen.

You could easily take your stretchband and take KickMax, CoreMax, StretchMax, and I'm sure many others!

Perfect. Thank you. I never thought about the headphones, great idea! Taking my band is a great idea too. I am taking Kick Max, Core Max and some cardio (sans step-too much stuff). The place has a fitness room but I want some of my own workouts. Thank you!

My husband bought a DVD combo thing for the kids. They each have their own tv screen in the car mounted on the back of the front seats. At first I did not like the idea- tv in the car is going a little far. But for long car trips it is the way to go. I think it might be small to see cathe, but if you pretty much know the routine, it won't be difficult. I had great intentions of running and using the hotels gym when I went to DC a month ago. I never worked out once! I bet you will do much better than I did. :)

Hello, Tallchick - a note from a Baldchick (that would be me . . .)

On the Rotations forum I posted a ideas-rotation called "Cathe Workouts On The Road" that might be of some help to you on vacation. The only equipment you need is a band (and of course a DVD player).

When I go on vacation I always bring my aquatic equipment (aqua jogger, hand buoys, resistance mitts and aqua shoes) and do strictly aquatic exercise to stay energized and limber, with all the walking that we do.

BTW, did you see that your fave (and mine) William Fichtner is in the new movie "The Longest Yard"? Kind of tough to contemplate having to wade through all that Adam Sandler to get to Bill, but we've gotta do what we've gotta do!
