Hey guys,

i just need to vent a little...I can't stand my job. I've been there for 11 years now and I am so ready to change, but with today's economy, and my lack of a degree (which is in progress), I feel stuck. Each day, I drag myself out of bed and wonder if this will ever end. On top of it, I've gained weight and feel miserable about myself. I don't have time to workout due to working and school. I'm just so tired and wondering if life gets any better or if this is it. I so badly want to lose the weight and gain the muscle, but I'm so tired and I feel like I'll never get there.

sigh...like I said, I just needed to vent. thanks for listening.

Hi How are you? You know I have days sometimes that I feel the same way. What I do when I'm feeling down is I start focusing on the wonderful things that I do have(I know it sounds lame)and I always think that someone out there has it worse than me. Hope this helps.

Hi Kblover!
I'm sorry you're feeling so down. I can relate to really disliking my job. There are some mornings (okay most) where I actually cry before I go in! I have a degree in a specific field, a field which I hate, but I know that there is something out there for me regardless of whether I've gone to school for it or not. (Okay, I know I couldn't be a doctor or a nurse without a degree, but there ARE other options!) Don't let the lack of degree get you down. Start a list of all your skills and think about what you'd like to do. Then, start browsing your local help wanted ads. There are also some websites on-line you can use for job seeking. There is something out there for you and you are not stuck, at least not forever! You have a degree in progress, so focus on that light at the end of the tunnel!

About working out, can you start walking during your lunch breaks? I think that would help you mentally to get some fresh air and exercise. You could even carry some light dumbells with you on your walk and start doing some bicep curls or shoulder presses, who cares what people think if they see you!

I also agree with MessyJessy - focus on the positive things in your life. Don't let your job define your happiness (as I often struggle with!)

I am sorry you find yourself in that situtation. You said that you are going to school - how much longer do you have in school. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Hang in there.

Regarding your workouts - why don't you try something simple but hard, like pushups everynight before bed. That will not take a lot of time at all but they do a lot of good. You can also do planks or sit-ups.

I just wanted to pop in and say how impressed I am with people like you who work and attend school. I can't imagine adding schoolwork to my day ~ I could do it, but I'd be exhausted and crabby, that's for sure.

I hear from others who have done it how worth the extra work is though! Hang in there. As for your exercise routine, maybe a 3 day a week schedule would work.
