work commute

It's funny. I only live a few miles from my office as the crow flies, but I take 3 subways to get to work and the commute varies based upon how quickly the subways come. I once made it door to door in 20 minutes, but it's more likely to take 35 minutes. In the nice weather, I'll add in some walking and take only 1 or 2 subways. I don't really mind because I spend the time reading and answering work emails and catching up on my reading, so I get stuff done. Driving to work would not agree with me, but everyone's different.

I'm lucky. It takes me 2 minutes to walk to work. I leave home at 7:57 and I see my first patient at 8:00 (I give myself an extra minute to get things ready):)

An hour seems like a long time but I guess it all depends on salary, benefits, etc.

For us, though the time it takes is the same, the difference was what the commute represented. The hour doesn't seem as bad because you're moving (instead of in gridlocked traffic) and there's time for a transition from work / home.

Yes!!!! I love love love to drive. I hate hate hate to sit on the road!!!! Whether or not I'm moving makes all the difference.
