Wood floor

My husband has said I can put down a wood floor area for my workout room:). Ideally I would like to find something I can just put over the carpet in the basement. Any ideas on where to get something like this?
Thanks!

Back in 2005, I investigated getting an aerobic floor for my workout room. In the end, I didn't do it. Somewhere on Cathe's site, she had information about flooring. I requested information from this company. As I go back to my files, the information I still have is from Stagestep, so I think this is the company that Cathe recommended ??? Their number is 800-523-0960 and the website is www.stagestep.com. They are located in Philadelphia. I spoke to a customer service rep and she was very informative.

what do you use?

Since you didn't put a wood floor in, what did you use instead? I was thinking of just buying some interlocking mats. It will be way cheaper. Mainly I just want a little more cushion since I work out in the basement. Also I am doing Insanity right now and the sweat that's pouring of me is "insane":).

I just kept the berber carpet the house came with. But, I do have 1/2 inch thick mats over the carpet. These are kids playmats that I bought from a toystore. They are similar to the mats that they sell at home depot.

If you aren't doing high impact floor aerobics or high impact step, you probably don't need to spend the money on the springstep floor.

thanks

Thanks for your suggestions. I think I might get the cushy mats and put them over the carpet. The Insanity series is SOOOOO much plyo stuff I think the more cushion the better.
I think you have done Insanity too right? Did you get the extra DVD set, and if so how did you incorporate them in to the rotation that comes with the DVDs.
Sorry so many questions:)

Yes. I did (still do) Insanity and I love it !!!!! I guess I do take my cushions for granted. I didn't have any issues with the plyos in Insanity, but I bet if I did it on a concrete floor, I would.

I did get the deluxe set and I love the workouts in it. The ab workout is similar but harder and longer than the one in the basic set. The upperbody workout uses dumbbells but also has some plyo in it and gets your HR up. The Sports Conditioning is similar to the month 2 workouts but has some different exercises (intensity-wise, it's between month 1 and month 2). There isn't anything you can't live without, but if you really like Insanity, I think they are worth the price. I did not rotate these in when I was doing the 2 month rotation, I just use them now when the mood strikes.
