Good Morning Coolers

Man, do I have the hiccups. Went to bed last night and they started and then again this morning. Must have been too much alcohol from Sat's party:D:D Actually I was pretty good, only had about 3 Coronas and 1/2 glass of white wine. Left work just after lunch on Friday and got to my sister's around 7:30pm. We ran into some snow for about 1hr so glad we started out in daylight. Left DS with my sister Sat. a.m. then went shopping. I did get some Xmas gifts so glad. Still have a few more to get. The party was good - about 650 people there. Our branch in the 11 years has grown from around 50 employees to over 400!!! And I hardly know anyone anymore, plus they all seem so young now. Guess I'm getting old but I don't feel it.:):)

I did GS -S/B/B last night then popped in a Charlene Prickett 1/2hr low-impact w/o. I'm going to alternate GS and cardio this week. Cathe hadn't posted a rotation when I looked last night but Fitness Freaks Dec. rotation looked good though.

Jeanette - so envious of you with the KB. Anxiously awaiting what results that you get from it. I LOL at you dumping the food when you got home. I definetly have decided portion control and these occasions + I hardly ever drink alchohol anymore. Why are you nervous about your golf game? Forgot to call the Dr about DS's thumb on Fri. Will have to today. Whenever I think about it they are either closed or off for their 2hr lunch and you can't leave a message:(:(

Kim - good on you for finishing the Nov. rotation. Hope you don't get too under the weather. I'm swearing by 1 tbspn of Buckwheat honey. Every time I get a scartchy throat I take it and my sore throat goes away. We got 10cm of snow overnight + another 10 on the way today. DH just confirmed with me what snowblower he is going to buy at lunch:p

Morning!

Today will be a 20 min run and some strength training. Need to stop at the grocery store today, so we will not be going to the gym. Besides everyone will probably be working off their Thanksgiving day meals, and the gym will be packed!:eek: LOL! I was hoping to do my run outdoors, but with the 5 inches of snow we received overnight that may not happen. :rolleyes:

Patricia, I get the same feeling with the "young" people around here. We have so many people retiring, and getting replacements that I don't know anyone anymore. :( Glad you had a good time at the party. The only thing I can tell you about the hic-ups is try some sugar. I try to get a piece of candy or something like that.

Kim, Hope you are feeling well, and congrats on finishing the Nov rotation.

Good Evening Coolers

Called the Dr and the x-ray came back as not abnormalities, so too DS to a PT today and he did some laser on it and stretched the thumb. I'm to try stretching the thumb about 2x a day and maybe to try coming back for laser 2x a week and hopefully in a few weeks things should be back to normal. My fingers are crossed. DS just sat there and let the Dr do his thing without any fuss.

Did 40min. of Imax 2 tonight. Just no gas in the tank today. I also did Kathy Smith's Power Walk at lunch for about 1/2hr too. Wonder if that used up some of my energy. Will do either GS legs tomorrow or Chest & Tri's.

Came home and someone had snowplowed our driveway. Xmas spirit must be in the air.

Hi all,
Sitting here with quite a sore throat. No workout for me this morning. I hate taking cold pills as they keep me buzzed so that I can't sleep at night. Just took some Zicam and Airborne, hoping that will help. Also sucked on a lozenge for the sore throat. I'm supposed to be attending a Camp Commander's Conference for the next 2 days but tomorrow looks iffy for me. DH picked up a couple of Christmas tree permits after work today so hoping I feel back to normal by next Saturday for the harvesting.

Patricia, good job on Imax2, that one will take the steam out of me even on a good day. Hope DS's thumb heals quickly. What a good little guy he was to let the dr. work on his thumb. My kids were always better for other people. :rolleyes: How nice to have the driveway plowed! Bet that made you feel good. Wow, 650 people at the party!! Sounds like you had a nice, nice time. I like those Coronas too. The golf game yesterday was great and I wasn't nervous at all. Being nervous in some sports doesn't seem to affect the game much, but with golf, even a little shortness of swing or tightness, and it throws the swing off. I always play so much better when I'm relaxed. Had a blast yesterday though, and glad DH was there to enjoy it with me. Sure wished he golfed too, but who knows? Just saw your post about the buckwheat honey. Where do you buy that? Not sure I've ever seen it. I have regular honey, but that probably wouldn't do.

Kim, how's your cold doing? Maybe we all need some whiskey and honey.

Laurie, did you get that grocery shopping done? I always hate doing that after work. I just want to go home, but alas, the children need milk, or should I say DH wants me to pick up some beer. ;) Pretty soon, a few items turns into $89 worth in 3 little bags.

Feeling much better but still coughing quite a bit! I have 8 days left till we leave on vacation so hope to squeeze in CTX as produced, I don't think I've ever done it like that. Will see if I can do the first workout tonight before TBL.

Oh Jeanette, I'm sorry you're sick now too. I should scout out the buckwheat honey and try that along with some whiskey (or as we Canadians call it rye). Did you stay home from work today?

Patricia How sweet of someone to plow your driveway! I hear on the news that Ontario has had a ton of snow we still don't have much. Glad nothing is broken in ds's thumb, remember I work on hand injuries if you have any questions? Are they calling it a mallet injury?

Laurie Oh, you have lots of snow too! LOL on the people at the gym probably so true, I bet after Thanksgiving is almost as busy as after New Year's.

Todays workout will be a 45 min run, and I'm hoping to run outside. Have to run inbetween the snow storms. :eek: LOL

Patricia, You DS did great, my girls would have been crying and screaming at that age. :rolleyes: I know this because they would do that for a shot! :eek: What a nice gesture on the part of the Christmas Elf! :)

Jeanette, So sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. :( Yep I did get the grocery shopping finished, and did pretty well. I picked up everthing that I needed, and didn't go over $100. I thought that was pretty good.

Kim, I'm not looking forward to the after New Years crowd. :rolleyes: So the countdown to Disney has begun. Glad you all have gotten the cold before you are leaving. I had to LOL when you said Off to work I go, you sound like one of the seven dwarfs. :D

Anyhow, Jeanette, I buy the Buckwheat Honey at a Bulk Food / Nutrition type store or even at Xmas Craft shows. There are usually booths selling all types of honey I find.

Kim - the PT didn't give DS's thumb any particular name, just that it seemed like his tendon maybe hasn't grown or is short. Anyhow, he just pointed the laser on 3 different spots and held it for about 1 min. at each location, then just tried stretching his thumb after that. I'm to do that 2x a day if I can. We will see. Yep, sounds like you have just enough time to get in a CTX week.

Off to raid my lunch bag early today,

Evening All

Lets see, I'm following the April 05 Rotation. Tonight was GS - Legs, standing portion only, and CoreMax - Segment 1. I don't think I'll ever be able to do the levitation holds.

Picked up our Xmas pics from Sears today. Don't have any frames for the sizes we ordered so will have to pick some up. Now have to get on the Xmas cards to insert DS's wallet pic.

We got a snow blower finally today and put it to good use already!

Kim - hope you don't get the snow b/4 you leave on vacation. That way you won't have to worry about being snowed in at the airport.

Okay, off to finish watching Law&Order-SVU

Didn't go to work today, woke up with a sore throat. Am feeling better now, so will just wait and see how I feel in the morning.

Patricia, levitation holds. Hmmmm, I always skip those anymore. I think I just have short arms and will never be able to do them. That's what I tell myself anyway. I think I have a longer upper body and short arms so guess I could do them with dumbbells or something to make my arms longer. Nah, I'll just skip them LOL. Bet that snowblower will get lots of use. Aren't that many snowblowers around here as we don't seem to get much snow anymore. We sure need it. Think they are predicting another dry winter, terrible for the fires. I'll have to keep an eye peeled for the buckwheat honey. Does it taste any different than say clover honey?

Laurie, when you run, do you listen to music or do a Cardio Coach or anything?

Kim, sure hope you are over the cough, drip or whatever by the time your trip comes. Hey, guzzle that rye or honey or whatever will kick it to the curb!

Todays workout will be a 30 min easy run (not outdoor because we are suppose to be getting more snow :(), and will do some bi's and tri's at the gym.

Patricia, Have a great time with that rotation. Did you look at Fitnessfreaks Dec rotation. That one actually looks really good, and I was tempted. It would be interesting doing the 4DS workouts at the gym. :eek: I have the worksheets, but some of the sheets don't have the set count on the push-ups. :( Now I know why the downloads will be good to have. Don't worry I'm not levitating anytime soon either. :eek: Those are just impossible! :rolleyes:

Kim, I think it is very understandable that you would have Disney on your mind. You and your family will have so much fun. I've been tempted to get a second job just to get the $ we need to get our Disney vacation money faster. :D. Not such a bad idea really, my brother is working at McDonald's on the weekends for that purpose.

Jeanette, Hope that sore throat goes away fast. I don't listen to anything when I'm running, because I'm afraid that I will not notice something important. Like a drunk driver! :confused: Or a rabid dog! :eek:

Laurie I'm not sure on the second job to save for a Disney trip but there are lots of good deals this year with the economy being slow.

Patricia Don't scare me on the snow :(, our last trip down south our connecting flight got cancelled in Toronto and we had to spend the night in Toronto (after sitting for 8 hrs in the toronto airport :rolleyes:). This time we connect in Minneapolis.

Patricia Did you go to work today? Hope you're feeling better! This household seems to be slowing improving. Last night as we were just falling asleep, DH said "listen, there's no one coughing" lol. The last couple of weeks all 4 of us are coughing all night long.

Too funny Kim about your DH saying No Coughing. I'm sure that has got to be a 1st in your household lately.

Did GS - C&T - timesaver pre-mix, plus about 20min cardio from Carribean W/O. My calves are killing me from yesterday. :D

Laurie - I saw Debbie's rotation and it looked like fun. I think I'm an ecto so I would have been doing less sets and more cardio. I'd already decided on doing GS this week and didn't want to flip/flop as I don't that too much as it is!

Jeanette - hope you feel better after your day of rest.

Off to bed for me. Will be waking up to another 15cm of snow:(

I'll try to keep it here Kim so it doesn't go your way:):p

No work again for me, will be going in tomorrow, though I have more "throat mucous yuck" now than yesterday. I did do a step workout, about 40 minutes of a couple of Christi Taylor workouts. Kept the intensity down and didn't heat up too much. Oh yes, I just ordered her "Fit To Dance" workout.

Patricia, if I remember right, there's a Superset timesaver premix on GS C&T that I liked when I did.

Kim, LOL from me too about no coughing. Presently, I'm the cougher in our house. Will take lots of cough drops to work tomorrow.

Laurie, that's smart to be able to hear while out running. You're absolutely right about that.

I did GS - Legs floor work only, then Coremax segment #2. My legs are still feeling it from Tues. night.

Tomorrow will be a rest day for me as I have a company dinner. DH is flying to Vancouver so I will be going stag.

Kim - good on you with keeping up your w/o's. Hope you're feeling better now. DH gave me a tutorial on the snow blower but hopefully I won't have to use it while he is away. I'd say we have about the same amount of snow now that we had last Jan./Feb. Hopefully the snow fall will slow down but that might mean colder temps.:(

Jeanette - hope you're feeling better.

Morning!

I have a bad pain in my neck (and no it isn't from boss or DH) LOL!:D Couldn't move my head yesterday without it hurting, but this morning I am much better, but going to avoid working out until maybe Sunday. I just don't want to chance making myself worse.

Patricia, WTG on getting that new snowblower, we are suppose to be getting more tonight. Oh so much fun! We had a lovely 8 deg this morning, so I think that would be a -13 or so for you. I always like having the bed to myself too, except on these cold nights when you need that extra warmth. :rolleyes: Like this morning! :eek: That GS Leg workout is a really good workout. All those lovely lunges she does. :eek:

Kim, They really do have some great deals right now, and of course the air fare is so much better than they where even last month. Just wanting to get our vacation money faster than I have been, seems like there is always something else that we need that is more important. Like new tires on my car, and DD getting her behind the road experience etc. :(

Jeanette, How are you feeling today? Hope all is well with you. Sounds like you love Christi workouts, she is just not my style. :eek: LOL!

No workout for me this morning. Did go to work today and started feeling better the longer I was there. Don't have the achy feeling anymore, but it's still all centered in my forehead/eye area. Just a lousy head cold.

Tomorrow we are going Christmas tree cutting. Should be fun. Will post personals later.

Oh, I thought I had posted yesterday but I guess I didn't :confused: Was going to but got distracted watching "The Grinch" movie with Jim Carrey. Went after school with dd and got pedicures with flowers painted on our nails, all ready to hit the beach next week. :D

Just finished Leaner Legs so have done 5/6 of the CTX workouts in a row, plan to do the last one, the kickboxing/biceps one tomorrow and be done that series. Monday is usually my rest day and Tuesday I figure I'll be busy packing so only one more workout for me.

Busy weekend for us, I have a hair appt today, dd's last swimming lesson (I don't think she's going to pass so hopefully she won't be too disappointed), she has a dress rehearsal for her piano recital today and the recital is tomorrow. DH's Christmas party is tonight. It's a formal dinner/dance, very nice all paid for, drinks and everything. My mom is kidsitting, I don't think we'll be out late as DH is still recovering from his illness. Got him on some Vitamin c and Zinc to see if we can get him healthy before we leave.

Actually today is my work's Christmas party as well which is a potluck at someone's house We had to miss one of them. Hmm, free formal dinner with drinks or have to cook something to take. Easy decision . LOL Well, DH is management so really expected to make an appearance and I been out for dinner with my coworkers twice lately.

Jeanette Hope you are feeling well enough to enjoy the Chrismas tree cutting!

Laurie Goodnes, how did you hurt your neck? That's a very sensible idea to take a few days off.

Patricia How was your company dinner?

Kim, who wil be leaving in 90.5 hours on vacation. :D

Dinner was good last night. I had some sort of chicken stuffed with spinach I think with lots of veggies. I did well on the portion control and only had 3 drinks. The white wine was delish. Australian I think. DS slept in until 8:30am today. I'm not sure if he has ever done that, plus he took a 3hr nap this afternoon. Wondering if he is fighting off something. He seems fine. I did just the 1st 2 combos of Step Blast today. Just no gas in the tank today for some reason. Almost feel if I'm fighting off something too. Went to Blockbuster and rented a couple DVD's for both of us. I got the 1st 2 discs for Season 1 of Heros as I'm watching a bit of it this Season.

DH made it to Vancouver just fine yesterday and feeling a little under the weather this a.m. Could it be the Jack Daniels they finished off yesterday? Oh, tried the snowblower today too! Works great as we got another 5cm today and more to come tonight!

Kim - getting envious of you. You'll actually see some grass in a few days. Until I get down to T.O. next Thurs. all I see is white stuff. Did you enjoy Leaner Legs? I kinda like that one even though its tough. Sounds like a fun time getting a pedi with your DD. My baseball team called me earlier this week to come over for a potluck Fri. night but had my company dinner already planned. Too bad as it would have been nice to see everyone, but at least I didn't have too cook anything either!

Jeanette - did you get a tree today? Hope you're feeling better.

Laurie - my calves are still hurting from last week..... yikes. I think I'll only do one set this week when it comes up in the rotation. Do you know what you did to your neck? I've tried Christi too and just don't click with her either. I got some Zumba w/o's at the Sally Ann a few weeks ago as I thought they might be fun. Nope. I'm just a straight-up aerobics type of gail. Just give me some good music like in Step Blast/SJP and I'm happy.

Ok off to get DS into bed.
