Love what I saw on the blog and that dumbbell stand is Fantastic! What a terrific space saver! Sure beats lining them up on the floor or even using those horizontal ones!

If you don't sell them yourself - where can I buy one!!!

SNM just posted this in a thread down below:

The weight rack comes from York Barbell, but it is not something we plan on selling.

(I WANT ONE TOO!!!)

HA!

I suggested on VF that SNM should sell a Cathe logo sticker :7 and we could put it on are DB racks.

The first thing I thought was "I WANT THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". Of course, it needs the Cathe Logo - We will figure out a way to get that, won't we......

I LOVE IT!!! They'll probably put a link on the website somewhere after all the responses they're going to get about this weight stand.

LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT - DID I mention I LOVE IT!!

I have that stand without the Cathe logo of course. I love it as it holds weights from 5 - 35 pounds. I live in California and they carry it at most sporting good stores in my area. I believe that I bought mine at Sports Chalet.

Does anyway know if this stand holds only hexagonal or rubber dumbbells?

Over the years, I've collected a mix of iron dumbbells, some with hexagonal ends and some with rounded ends. I have yet to find a weight stand that holds both, and I would LOVE to get my weights off the floor and onto something more organized, without having to discard some of my old dumbbells with rounded ends and replace them with hexagonal and/or rubber dumbbells.

I'll email York Barbell to find out whether their customer service could provide some guidance, but would appreciate any advice here. This (minor) problem has been vexing me for some time! }(

I purchased this very same stand from Chicago Home Fitness last summer when it was on clearance. It does hold different types of weights, I have hex and neoprene on them. If I remember right, I paid $99 for my rack made by Hoist. It normally doesn't, but mine was shipped assembled because it was a floor model. I love it!!!

I don't know about you guys, but I'm still holding out for one that holds ALL my dumbbells, my plates, and still has a small footprint. Of course, I haven't found it yet! ;)

>The stand holds only 8 sets of dumbbells, which I think is
>kind of limited.

They do make a larger stand that will hold 13 pairs of dumbbells.

I bought a nice rack at Dick's with 3 tiered shelves that can probably hold 10 or 12 pairs of DB's. It sits against the wall where it's out of the way. It's so nice to have my DB's organized and up off of the floor!

Michele!

Hey Michele, if it's not too much trouble, could you point to an online source or picture of your rack?

My weights are lining the walls of my workout room and crowding the floor space, so I really ought to put a weight rack on my Christmas/Hanukkah list and yours sounds really spacious but space-efficient. (Now that I think about it, my barbell plates are scattered in little piles in the corners -- I really ought to find and ask Santa for a small plate rack too!)

One question though: Will your 3-tiered rack hold any kind of dumbbell, smooth-ended or hex? My dumbbells are such a motley crew. I have my screw-on 3's from Target with the bright red "Heavy Hands"-like handles (I bought these puppies like 100 years ago!) and then I have my screaming orange neoprene 5's and slick black neoprene 10's (neither of which I like, but they'll do and I can't justify replacing them). Then I have the rest in plain grey hex iron, but only my 8's and 12's match -- I have 15's and 20's that were bought one at a time from different places! Right now I top out at a pair of (MATCHING!) 25's. But heck, a girl can dream of needing bigger and badder dumbbells, right? ;-) So I do kinda like the idea of a rack that would hold more than 8 pair.

What I REALLY want is what Nancy wants -- one rack that holds it all!! :9 :9 :9

Thanks Michele!!!!!

RE: Michele!

Hiya Kathy!

I've scoured the internet and I cannot find the exact rack that I bought at Dick's, and it frustrates me to the ends of the earth that Dick's doesn't offer it on their website. x(

The rack I bought is made by Fitness Gear, which I THINK is a Dick's store brand. It's a 3-tier rack, model STE00036, approx 35" W X 27" H X 18" D. Space is at a premium in my house and this is the perfect size. I don't know if it will accomodate any kind of dumbbell because I only have the hex style. I'm sure you could call Dick's and ask them. The handles on my DB's are about 5" long -- if your DB handles are shorter then this rack probably won't work for you. I have one set of 3# neoprene DB's and they are too small for the rack.

This rack is similar to mine. This one is white with 4 tiers -- mine is like a steel gray with 3 tiers. http://newyorkbarbells.tv/2270.html

I have a plate tree similar to this one (mine only has one post in the center). I got it at Dick's (the only place near me who carries this kind of equipment). Again, it's a Fitness Gear brand. http://newyorkbarbells.tv/92512.html

I got my racks on sale. Power Systems has some nice ones but they're so expensive. I would check Amazon, too.

I HTH. Good luck in your hunt and let me know what you find. :)

RE: Michele!

I got my plate rack and dumbbell rack from Play it again sports. I think they were both about $30-$40 each.
