I got some good chuckles and deep thoughts.

And to answer one question- I was just being nice about getting them some gas, but I expected them (and asked them) to refill the can 1/2 way. 1/2 to them was 1 gallon.

Oh well, it has made me consider they are not considered "good neighbors" and unfortunately if they were stranded on the side of the road, etc. I would drive by and not say a word.

How unfortunate.

I want to see the good in everyone and treat them as such until burned. I considered this experience a burn.

And for the other one about doing good deeds with nothing in return. I know about those also and TOTALLY agree. This just wasn't one of those cases with gas prices as high as they are and MY own tank almost at empty!

They were out of gas so maybe they were broke and couldn't. Just think though, your good deed will reward you in the end.

Ask the boys if they could refill the gas can with 1/2 a can (its a 5 gallon jug). They shook their head so I assumed that meant they understood.

I'm confused.
I would assume they meant "no," which is what a head shake means. (and they were just being impertinent little ? twerps!)
