Why do you like CTX?

I have done the series once and I'm just wondering why all of you like this so much? Do you like it because of the time factor or results or what? Will it grow on me?

I like it because it's versatile. I never use it as is. But I very often do a short cardio, combined with 2 or 3 upper body muscles, either from CTX or some other series. Leaner Legs is truly evil and therefore a must do. And the abs workouts can be combined. The upper body split is great. The only one I never ever ever do anymore is Kickbox the cardio part. It is just too dang easy, except for the power lunges. My heart rate stays too low. All Step is good for days when I'm sore and not wanting much challenge. And Power Circuit, 10 10 10 and Step and Intervals are wonderful short workouts.

There are also people who combine two cardios together. I haven't done it but it seems like a good idea.

Versatility. Combining 2 cardio segments as mentioned above makes for a decent workout. The upper body split is a fryer. LL is a fryer. Or just doing any of these workouts as is (excluding Upper body or LL) when coming off an illness has worked well for me, since they are a little easier.

I like it because there's just an endless amount of possiblities with this one and because it contains so many bits and pieces to add onto other workouts. CTX is BY FAR my favorite Cathe series.

You can add the intervals from Step Intervals onto the end of another workout to "go out with a bang".

You can add the step portion of 10-10-10 to the end of All Step for a 30 min cardio workout.

You can combine the cardio portion of Power Circuit with either the lower body/cardio premixes of HSTA or BC or - my favorite - combine PC's cardio with the circuits from Body Max.

You can do 2 upper body parts a day so that you work each group 2xs per week.

You can add the floor work from PLB to LL for a 60 min. lower body workout.

You can add the abs from LL, All Step, Power Circuit, or KB to the end of ANY workout.

You can do All Step's cardio followed by Step Intervals cardio as a substitute for Step Blast (they are both 43 min. and both end with 3 intervals!)

I've often combined the step and hi/lo portions of 10-10-10 with the hi/lo from either SJ&P or MIC.

This series is so versatile - I could go on and on (but I think I already did).

Also, the upper body weight work from this series is nice in that you can go lighter, like Cathe does for an endurance workout - or you can slow the reps and go heavy for a strength-type workout.

(Edited to correct a plethora of spelling errors - hope I caught them all!)

It is very versatile. You have a bit of everything: cardio without step, step, kickbox, lower body training in learner legs, weight training and abs. If you have the dvd there are the all abs split and upper body split. In the upper body split you will find all the upper body segments from the CTX.In the abs split you will find all the abs exercises of the CTX.

I actually just started doing a CTX rotation this week. I love this series and I do the workouts as is. This was my first Cathe series and I had the best results ever. I think I burned myself out on them because I've just now been able to get myself to them again after a couple of years. I'm hoping for the same results that I saw before. The music is my favorite of all the series. The ab workouts are great. My obliques are actually very sore to the touch today. I actually had a little 4-pack going the last time I did this series.

For me, results. Cardio endurance, strength, and visual results. This series definitely uses every workout minute to the fullest. "No time for downtime."

And there is very minimal time used up on changing equipment etc.

I get fine results with it and if I eat sensibly it helps me stay in great shape without the stress on my body I would get with longercardio/longer strength workouts.

I like it so much I use it up, and take breaks from it, but it always delivers. I really like the sound recording quality as well.

I had cardio on my plate for today so did CTX All Step, step parts from CTX Power Circuit, and some step parts from CTX Step & Intervals. Came out to around 55 minutes. I forget how intense the work is for these, in just a short period of time. It was fun and I had to really listen to Cathe for All Step. They are short, but effective! Yes, very versatile!

I love it for LL, CTX-UB split, the compilation of ab work, the 30-minute cardio segments that you can mix and match to your liking, and the idea of working one body part a week if you're short on time.

CTX cardio question

I've read the reviews at VF on the CTX workouts, but still wonder about the cardio. I find all of the pivots, and back to the tv work in Low Max, KickMax & IMax3 a bit frustrating. Pivots on carpet don't work well. It doesn't add intensity, but it does make it tough to learn & hard on the knees.

So how's the CTX cardio?
