I know that in some tapes, you can see the scars where Cathe had some ACL repair done (from a skiing accident), but she was still using and 8"step at the time. I recall her saying about a 6" step that she got the same intensity workout as she had previously with 8"(but I don't recall it being tied directly to her having had children). I'm not sure if Cathe said this, or if I read it elsewhere, but someone stated that you should use the lowest step height you can to get the intensity you want.
