I was so disappointed when I learned of this weeks votes. But, it is not up to who really has the most talent, or best voice, it's up to the people who take the time to vote. I never vote, because I'm so tired when I do get home from work. So, I get upset, but do I do anything about it? Kinda like not voting for president and then complaining about who we get...
I did go with my daugher to the Idol tryouts here in Houston last summer (for the season) and there were literally thousand of people there. We stood in line for hours, then slept on the concrete floor of Minute Maid park. Finally, after all the waiting, (2 days worth) they were given about 10 seconds to sing whatever they wanted in front of some people. Not Simon, Randy or Paula. There were people who I heard singing (practicing) with tremendous voices. They were passed over. My own daugher (whom I think has a great voice) was passed over ( I may be prejudiced, but I'm entitled) Yet, there were kids there with much better pitch, range, and personality than some who are in the finals now. So.... who's to say? Out of all the thousands who try out each time, many will not ever be there who really could do it justice.
It was an experience I don't want to go through again. But, she was proud she tried out, and is planning to do so again!!
