Who will be the next to go on American Idol????

I agree that Johnm HAS to go! I cannot believe that he is still here. I think George has WAY more promise than John. John is only 16 and he'll have his chance later. I cannot WAIT until 8:30 tonight to see! I think the bottom three tonight will be John, George and Diana, although I love both George and Diana!
I think Jennifer has an amazing voice, but I see her more as a Broadway actor than an American Idol. Plus, she gets a little too huffy sometimes when she doesn't agree with America's voting! What am I, 12? :7

It's got to be so difficult for all the contestants to sing popular songs and yet make them their own somehow! I agree I just didn't like the way George sang the song, because I really like his voice and I think he's very talented. If they all just got up there and sang the songs the way we're used to hearing them, it might as well be a giant karaoke contest! LOL!!

I bet she'll get a lot of votes, Kathryn! Remember last year with Ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-ben and his 205 shirts? I did notice this year they aren't pushing one contestant over the others quite as much as last year, although Simon has now made more than one reference to the "battle of the divas". They "promote" who they want to advance with their subtle (or sometimes not so subtle) comments. Of course, people are free to make their own choice, but sometimes I wonder how much of the judges' banter has an ulterior motive behind it. Conspiracy theorist that I am ... LOL!!

I just heard there is going to be an upset tonight! I hope it is not George Huff's. I don't think he did a real impressive performance, but as a lot of you said, I think he has more promise than John Stephens! He just seems so dull to me(John Stephens). I thought all of the ladies were fabulous! Love those Barry songs! I was quite impressed with Jennifer Hudson! I can't wait to see what happens!

Well ... excuse my language, but that totally sucked. Fantasia, Jennifer and La Toya were in the bottom three!!!! I'm not kidding. Jennifer is gone. This is worse than last season. Someone please tell me why I'm watching this show?

I didn't see the show (but taped it), and that bites. I saw the post and just had to see!!! I'm afraid song choice was the culprit this week. I totally thought LaToya sounded great last night, but couldn't care less for that song. And Fantasia didn't impress me last night, not like she did last week. (And I agree that the Yah-yah-yah -yah she tacks onto every single performance has got to GO!)
I'm really hoping that George and LaToya come on strong and make the top two. I think the rest of them still need to "grow up" a little bit. But that's what they get when the age cut-off is something like 25 years old!
Oh, and I know it's making you nuts, but we all know we'll be watching again next week!!

Well, you could have blown me down with a feather! I swear, my mouth dropped. But I knew something was up when I saw the producer on Entertainment Tonight earlier last night say something about it being a major surprise -- and he didn't look happy about it!
My co-worker just told me she heard that everyone in John Steven's hometown gather at the school gym every American Idol vote night and set their cell phones on re-dial until the batteries are dead.
This really bugs me -- people should only be allowed one vote per person. There has to be a solution to this. Maybe have a $ charge per call? Or maybe call to vote someone off rather than on?
I think Jennifer Hudson is a powerhouse! I hope she gets a record deal of this.

I was so upset that I changed the channel and watched Smallville! I couldn't believe that Jennifer, LaToya and FAntasia were in the bottom three! That's it, I said I was going ot vote this week, but I wasn't home to. Next week I'm all over voting for LaToya and fantasia. And you know what? I'm goin gto hit redial until I'm blue in the face! Ha, so there!

I'm sure friends and family of all the contestants are doing the same thing. It doesn't seem fair. One person, one vote!
Each season, there seems to be a week when one (or more) of the stronger talents gets in the bottom 3. In season one (before I began watching), it was that woman whose name I can't remember, but who has gone on to act in some TV shows. In season 2, Ruben was in the bottom 3 at one time. I think what might happen is that people assumed that the "Divas" would get soooo many votes that theirs wouldn't matter, so they voted for their second choice. or for the person they felt sorrt for.
It's incomprehensible to me that John, Diana and George were not in the bottom 3.
They say that the masses are asses, and in this case, I agree (though I never really liked Jennifer---too much drama).

There were 6 of us at my in-laws last night watching the show. (Well...7, if you count Kennedy and she LOVES AI! Amy with the pink hair was her fav!:7) When they told George to go to the "best group" we were like, what???? He wasn't even quite sure what to do. We were literally blown away, all of us, when they made the announcement! You should have heard us! I felt bad when they showed John's face because he KNOWS he's not as good. He looked in shock, as did the others. I had heard last year that they were going to make it more fair this year by doing the one vote idea but I guess they didn't. I know one of the hi-lights of the show is when Ryan announces how many calls they get each week. Kathryn, I think it's Tamira Grey you are thinking of from the first season. You're right, many of them will go onto BIG things. I'll be on my couch next week at 8:00!
