Who has seen the movie "The Departed"?

I don't know why but I absolutely love this movie! I think Leo DeCaprio(SP?) is dreamy. I've never really thought he was hot until I saw him in this one. He looks like a man, maybe that's why. :) The only thing I would change is the ending.

RE: Who has seen the movie

That was a great movie. Leo is hot. I agree about the ending. I call those what the >>> movies.

OH, ME ME ME!!! *jumps up and down waving arms*

I adored this movie. And yes, Leo is dreamy in it.

WHY would you change the ending??? I loved the ending! I thought it was brilliant!

RE: Who has seen the movie

+1 vote for interesting film. Saw it for the first time last month. Yep, it's VERY nice to see how Leo has ....you know...'developed' over the years ;-). (I guess he's been taking his vitamins and working out to some Cathe!!) I remember seeing him way back when in that Gilbert Grape movie. And of course things are getting better and better for him professionally. His performance in Departed was very convincing. I love his baseball caps/streetwear; seems so natural on him. and also the scene when he's talking, arguing rather, with the therapist about lies and valium. 'Heaven holds the faithful departed'- I think it's supposed to be a comforting line but to me it came across as quite haunting as well.

RE: Who has seen the movie

I would change the ending to, of course, Leo gets the girl!!! I am a chick flick dork so that would be my ending. Oh, and the baby is his. :)

I love his baseball cap and streetwear too! I think I am going to go out and buy my husband an outfit like his. You think I could get my DH to role play!?! :)heehee... I think I have a crush! Anything wrong with that?

RE: Who has seen the movie

Matt Damon is way hotter. And Mark Wahlberg is hotter than Matt Damon.

And then there's Jack...mmmmm...:p :p :p

RE: Who has seen the movie

Oh! That was a good movie! Is it me or does Leo sometimes look like a young Brad Pitt? (I hope I don't get flamed for that one...}( ) Anyway, with Leo, Matt Damon, and (my favorite) Mark Wahlberg :9 , how can you go wrong???

RE: Who has seen the movie

Good movie - he is so freaking hot...very dapper...Like G. Clooney. He is getting better looking every year!

Hey, whatever rocks your socks, right. ;-) Such kinky members on this forum, eh? I think that's why I like it around here

RE: Who has seen the movie

This was an excellent movie. I just watched it for the first time a couple of weeks ago. It was a weeknight and we finished it at about 10:30 pm. I couldn't fall asleep because I kept thinking about the movie. It was just that good. Also, I thought the ending was great.

Whoa, there! Do we realize any innocent, mild-mannered person stumbling upon this thread might be thinking 'someone really needs to hose these ponies down' :)

I also agree with the poster who said he looks like a young Brad Pitt...but Leo's hotness still trumps Brad's. }(

RE: Who has seen the movie

We saw it last weekend. DH had put it in our queue at Netflix without my knowing. I looked at it and said, "WHY do we have "The Departed?" I was so not interested...Leonardo just, well, I never could see the appeal.

Well, five minutes into the movie, I was HOOKED!!!! I think I held my breath for the entire last 10 minutes!!! Great movie and Leonardo won me over. And I loved the tunes in the soundtrack...nothing like some good old Irish-punk.

When it was over, DH said, "Man, Scorsese must be losing it. He just can't get the big names in his films anymore."

What can I say, his sarcasm is what attracted me to him!

RE: Who has seen the movie

Df and I absolutely LOVED that movie. I think it was one of the best of the year. I wasn't a Leo fan but really liked him after that movie. I like Matt Damon a lot. It was really weird to see him playing such a mean guy (he was also amazing in "The Talented Mr. Ripley").

My fave would have to be Mark Wahlberg (Marky-Mark...can't help but think of that every time I see him). He is a terrific actor and was great in that movie. One of my all-time favorite lines was in that movie when someone asked him, "Who are you?" and he said, "I'm the guy doing my job, you must be the other guy." BWAHAHAHAHA!!! I LOVE that line! :7

RE: Who has seen the movie

I loved the banter between MW and Alec Baldwin...just too funny.

Oh, and while the ending wasn't comfortable, it was good, and necessary. I'm just not for warm and fuzzy endings in gangster movies. (Did anybody really want to see Fredo coming back from that fishing trip, all smiles saying, "I hooked a big one, Mikey!!!")

Look at it this way: maybe she'll have twins and they'll be Leo's and there'll be a sequel called "The Arrivals."}( }(

RE: Who has seen the movie

Well...this would be the movie that certainly turned me into a Leo fan. I also thought he was really great in Blood Diamond. Whatever you think of his looks, he really is a great actor.

I really loved Mark Walhberg, though. I thought his character was great and his portrayal was excellent.

RE: Who has seen the movie

Am I the only one who thought it was too violent? Yes, I liked the movie, but didn't care for the violence. Yes, I also thought this of 300 (even though I loved seeing the buff bods)....
