Which tapes for beginner?

I have a friend who hasn't exercised much. Which Cathe tapes would be best? Is Cathe too advanced for a beginner? What about other tapes by other people? Which are the best for those w/o much experience?

The best Cathe for a beginner would be her wedding video. I'd also check out collagevideo.com where you can have them rank videos according to intensity level, etc. and you can also preview clips of most videos. videofitness.com also has great video reviews according to both instructor and type of workout.

Cathe is too advanced for a beginner exerciser, IMO. Even the Wedding Video is quite intense, and even though it is basic for Cathe, the choreography may be a bit too much for a newbie. (Although I suppose the 2nd section of weight work might be alright for someone just starting out...)
I would highly reccomend Kathy Smith and Gin Miller tapes.
For strength: Kathy Smith's Secrets to a Great Body Upper and Lower Body workouts. Good form pointers and basic strength training.
For Cardio: Reebok Aerostep (Gin Miller), Kathy Smith Step Workout, Reebok Circuit Challenge (a combination of basic step moves, alternated with basic upperbody strength work.)
I second the reccomendation to visit videofitness.com for reviews of beginner videos. Collagevideo is alright, too.
PS Donna Richardson has some beginner tapes that might be a fit for your friend, too. Also, Karen Voight may work...

I would highly, highly, recommend Reebok Step - The Video with Gin Miller. The cueing is the absolute best!!! I did Weight Watchers along with sit ups, a gallon of water/a day and this this tape alone (5 days a week - very gradually increasing my step and icorporating wrist (5 lbs) and hand weights (3,4,5,7 lbs into the routine). After 9 months and 3 tons of sweat and tears, I was down 85 lbs and went from a size 22 to a "sculpted" size 6. Anything is possible!!! And I never got bored with the tape. I still use it in my workout routine. Gin is all business. No whooooping, laughing, retelling of the same joke, or complicated stepping. Just up, up, down, down. And it works!! Tell your friend not to get caught up in what everyone else does, just don't give up, be consistent, and most importantly......be patietnt. And please tell her not to be fooled by any naysayers!! Working out doesn't have to be all that complicated!!!!

Wow, Charli, what an accomplishment!!I'll bet you're really proud! I appreciate all of the advise, so does my friend! Thanks guys.
