Which strength video do you like best?

Slow & Heavy Series

or

Gym Style Upper Body Series (I figure Butts & Guts, Leaner Legs, Pure Strength Legs, Legs & Gutes and Pyramid Lower body pretty much cover my lower body).

I am especially interesting in building upper body strength and toning.

I have the Pure Strength series, but don't know which other series would be best for me.

My goal is to gain more lean muscle and toning versus endurance.

I already own MIS, Muscle Endurance, Power Hour, etc.

I like both, but I modify both.

Slow and Heavy has too many chest exercises to back, IMO, and I also change some of the moves, like doing a 1-arm lat row instead of a two-arm, so that I can lift heavier). I don't like S&H lower body (but that shouldn't be a problem, since you have so many lower body workouts to choose from).

I also use the bicep work in Gym Styles in a "pick and choose" fashion, not doing all the exercises each workout (the biceps is a small muscle, and is already worked when we do back, so IMO the number of sets devoted to this muscle group in GS is overkill).

Of the two, I think S&H would be better for strength building (because of the pace and the recovery between sets), while GS might be better for 'toning.'

Both are three-day splits, and GS is more like an updated PS, while S&H is unique in Cathe's offerings.

Seeing what you already have, I'd suggest going with S&H, which is a change up. One tip: I often find when doing S&H that I prefer a 3-down/5-up rep count (or 4-up/4-down for shoulders) rather than the 2-down/6-up. One great thing about these workouts is that you can play with the reps like that).

I like the Gym Styles better than S&H. If I were thinking about S&H I would wait since Cathe is thinking about updating that series.

Thanks for the info! I have not yet ordered one of the series because I wanted to hear from a variety of people.

If Cathe is going to update the S&H series, then I will definitely buy the upper body Gym Style Videos!

I feel so dumb! I actually own Slow and Heavy as well as Pure Strength.

For some reason, I had the DVD filed with my non workout things.

I have not done it more than twice, probably due to this!

Boy, I am glad I waited to decide what to order.

I suppose Gym Style it shall be!

Yes, I should have no trouble with which one to buy now.

Should I blame my stupidity on Ambien?

}(

Just kidding -- I am not that far gone!
