Which should I do - the 6 mo. rotation or the 3.5 mo rotation?

Which rotation is best to start with for weight loss?

I just got the series and did disc one today. I was planning to do the 3.5 month rotation first, and then after that do the 6 month. But now I am wondering if I should just start with the 6 month. I have about 30 pounds to lose, and of course I would love to do it as quickly as possible! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi
I started out with the 3 1/2 month rotation and how I am doing the 6 1/2 month and I wish I had done this one first.

I'm enjoying the 6 month rotation for a couple of reasons:

1) In Mesos 1 and 2, there is a variety of exercises and in the sequence of the exercises. I really wanted to work on form and get my poundage just right, and the second week helped me do that.

2) In Meso 3, there isn't a lot of variety, and form should be pretty solid by now. However, I use the second week to really master my target weight before moving up. I feel like I'm reducing my risk of injury, and I bump up my target weight with more confidence.

I'm sure there are positives about doing the 3 month too. I suppose it really depends on how you move mentally through the rotations. If you get bored fast, the 6 month might not work well for you.

I am currently doing the 3 months rotation and am just starting the last week of meso 2. I love the program but I wish I had decided on the 6 months. I think my body would have adjusted better on the weight increases. Right now I feel a little unsure of myself when the time comes to up the weights and I find myself readjusting my 1RMs here and there. Had I done the 6 months this would have probably been a smoother process.
On the other hand, the 3 months is giving me a nice "feel" for the whole program, like a testing experience, and also its a faster accomplishment, so there's the mental factor as well. When I finish, I will definitely do the 6 months rotation, after I do a month of some other Cathe's workouts - to give my body some break. I am also hoping on the STS Cardio to be released by that time, as well as the tower, so it'll all fit perfectly! :)
Best of luck to you: Krasy

The 6 month rotation is where you perform each week's workouts twice. In other words,

Week #1: Discs 1, 2, and 3
Week #2: Discs 1, 2, and 3

Week #3: Discs 4, 5, and 6
Week #4: Discs 4, 5, and 6

Week #5: Discs 7, 8, and 9
etc.

In the 3 month, you just follow the program as is, with Week #1 being Discs 1, 2 and 3, and Week #2 being Discs 4, 5, and 6.

Oh, thanks for that. What do you do with the rest weeks in 6 month....do them still after mesocycles?

Gotcha....I think I'm gonna have to start with 3.5 months at first....it's almost impossible for me to finish a 3 month rotation (and perhaps ACTUALLY impossible as I've never actually done it)...6 would be unlikely. Kudos to anyone who has done anything for 6 months!

I did 3 1/2 month rotation but I wish i had done the 6 1/2 month. Right now i'm doing meso 2 and instead of doing 1 month i'm doing 2 month rotation and I'm enjoying this way.
I love it.;)

Any advise?

I am doing the 6 month rotation and I am on meso 3 right now. I've seen a post where someone was talking about doing each disc from meso 3 only ones and don't treat it like a 6 month rotation. Since the exercises each week are the same or close to it, is it actually worth it to repeat each workout? Does anyone have any experiences doing it both ways and what were the results? Also I've seen you guys talk about Insanity. Sorry, what do you mean by that. Thanks for any reply!

I'm almost done with my 3.5 month sts...I have not done the 6mo. I dont know if I could physically do sts 6mo rotation the first time around. I have enjoyed great results. I went from post baby body (started when baby was about 2 months) to looking kind of fit.

I also started insanity-its a different type of rotation by shaun t. I got it through beach body...love it

I've been debating this myself. The last time I did it I did the 3 month and my strength gains were impressive and quick. But I really enjoyed the Meso 1 and 2 workouts, so I like the idea of doing them over a longer period of time. I actually only made it through the first week or two of Meso 3 because I had some minor surgery, but it required me to stop nevertheless. I'm preparing to start again in October, so....decisions, decisions.
