I tried turbo jam a year ago and sent them back.
Mostly cardio and 3 lb weights and too dancy for me.
I didn't like p90x, but many do. I didn't like Tony's style. I can do pull ups and push ups with out a dvd.I didn't like him trying to sell protien drinks and suppliments. I wanted a workout .It was too manly for me.
Cathe is more fun, energising and motivating. IMO, she has been my favorite. I have never stuck with someone this long without trying everything else.

I voted Cathe because I don't own any of the other ones. A friend let me borrow Turbo Jam though, I forget which one I did but I barely broke a sweat. Nothing compares to Cathe, I've never had so much fun working out. :D

I'm one make up workout away from selling Turbo Jam on Ebay...I am rarely disappointed with Cathe's workouts. I'm really not sure what it is, but it has to have something to do with the "girlfriends feel" of them--always the same crew, always the same friendly personalities.

I didn't vote. I love my Cathe videos and I love P90X. The Turbo Jams are completely different. I would break it down this way:

Cardio:

Cathe, hands down

Weight lifting:

P90X
Then Cathe's GS and S&H series.

But it really depends on the results you want. P90X is a tough, tough series that will challenge you physically and mentally - especially if you add cardio to it. But it's mainly weight lifting. If you are really concentrating on losing weight and not gaining muscle mass, then it's not the series for you.

I voted for Turbo Jam and Cathe. I really like Chalene Johnson and think she is fun and upbeat...but it is very different then Cathe.

PO90 is a joke if you ask me. When I received it I immediately returned it. I didn't find it even remotely challenging and at that point I had only been doing Denise Austin workouts, so if I didn't find it challenging then..that is a serious problem. As far as PO90X goes, never tried that one because I figured why bother...but after reading that it is mainly muscle building, I don't think I would want to do it anyway.

I won't vote because I like P90X for different reasons than I like some of Cathe's weight workouts. They are both good workouts.

P90X: the best fitness investment I've made in years. It is so well-balanced, allows for sufficient recovery, sequences exercises in a very effecitive way, and teaches the user about effective rotations and the importance of recovery.

Cathe would be my second choice.

Best would be a combo of P90X strength and core workouts and Cathe cardio.

Cathe b/c I won't buy anything from Beach Body b/c of all the customer service issues.

I agree with Kathryn! P90x for strength and Cathe for cardio!!

I have P90X and use only the Yoga and Stretch workouts. Everything I do is either Cathe's or my own homemade routines BASED ON Cathe's workouts. I'm sure P90X is a good program. I simply can't be motivated by Tony Horton. I've tried. Doesn't work. And I'm getting great results from Cathe. Why fix what isn't broken?

Cathe is my all time favorite! The music is good and there are so many premixes and variations..how could you ever get tired of her workouts.

P90X is a great program..music blows and there is a bit too much chatter with Tony...Yoga X is incredible..but a bit too long sometimes.

Turbo Jam is a lot of fun and the music is great and Charlene has a ton of energy and can really motivate you..sad thing is they use the same music in almost all of the workouts and the turbo's are the same and the warm up is the same too...they should have changed up the music and had different warm ups for each workout. I think it is annoying how the one chick smiles and just is over the top with her weird gestures..head shaking..eww with her low modifications..
I can't think of her name off the top of my head..she reminds of that nut job that was/is on fit tv that is behind and to the right of Sharon Mann..she is in the back going like 200 miles an hour and looks like a freaky nut and she looks dangerous..like she might hurt someone or something!! a long time ago we had a thread dedicated to her...she was given the same "Sparky"..I have never laughed so hard in my life when everyone was ripping on her..OMG...LOLOLOL!

That is my 2 cents.

:)

I think her name is Amarita. I agree she looks as if she is ready to take a bite out of someone. I still really like the workouts though. deb

Okay I'm with Kathryn here. Yea, I agree Tony Horton is a bit of an EGO-Freak and Turbo Jam is not nearly as "intense" as Cathe, BUT shoot they are all great workouts for different reasons.

P90x is simply different in that you are challenged to use your own body weight ( along with weights )and also hit muscle groups from different angles.

Cathe is intense plyo-fun. I think they ought to let Jai lead kickbox though...just my opinion. Cathe's weight workouts are excellent as well, but different from P90x...just different and if you have been working out out as long as some of us have a change here and there is healthy.

Turbo Jams are just plain ol fun...and can be intense if you work it!

I think the more open I am to other styles of workouts the more fit I become. deb:D

LMAO!!! those turbo jam comments are HYSTERICAL!!!! I like Chalene a lot, but honestly part fo the reason I stopped doing the tapes, and I know this is completely ridiculous.....but true, is I HATE her warm-up...and if you lose me in the warm up, what is the point right?

Jules!!!!

> I think they ought to let Jai lead
>kickbox though...just my opinion.

Are you confusing Jai and Lorraine? I think Lorraine could do a good job leading, or co-leading, a kb workout: she has great form (but Jai's punches leave something to be desired).

I love Cathe, so I chose Cathe. Although lately I have been doing all my new workouts (Amy Bento, Tracey Staehle, Jari Love and Kelly Coffey-Meyer). I am very much enjoying the variety. I think it's because I needed something new and the new Cathe's weren't coming, so I went elsewhere. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait to get the new workouts, but I am thrilled with the new workouts I have added to my collection. I think they will all work very nicely together in a rotation when I get the new Cathe's.

I also have and enjoy P90X. I like Tony and the workouts are wonderful. I will do another rotation probably near the beginning of next year. More into endurance and cardio right now.
