Which DVD to buy next?

Okay. I have a question. I will be getting some christmas money and I am trying to decide what Cathe(s) to buy next. I am considering CTX, or the timesaver workouts or slow and heavy and pure strength.
Which do you guys recommend I get first? I'm probably only going to have around $120 in christmas money and then probably have to add a little to it to make up the difference. anyway, any suggestions on what to buy first?
Thanks
T.

I just love slow and heavy. I have been working with weights for years but for me, slow and heavy was really a new way to do it. I felt significantly stronger after using those DVDs in the most recent "heavy" rotation. So I would highly recommend S&H.

Another reason I like S&H - the pace is slow - so there is a lot more teaching of form in this video set. I learned a lot from it.

I don't have the others, so can't comment on them, but they are all on my wishlist :)

Hope this helps!

Aim for nothing, and you'll hit it every time!

What are your goals and how many days a week do you expect to work out? What Cathe workouts do you already have?

Personally, I love CTX. I bought dozens of Cathe workouts this year and that set is my favorite. I love the short intense cardio and the one body part per day format. It's a little more high impact, but not as much as the Imaxes or Drill Max. (IMO)

Many folks love S&H and PS, however, I'm not into heavy strength training. Lastly, if you look at the thread in this forum about least used Cathe workouts, you'll see Timesaver shows up a lot.

Chocolate IS the answer, regardless of the question.

I would go with CTX because it has everything you need for a well-rounded program. Unless you are focusing more on the weightlifting, CTX has good weights plus the cardio as well.

Thanks for all the replies. My gut feeling was to go with CTX so I think that's what I will do. I try to do a little bit of everything to change things up. I will probably get another DVD if I have enough money and it will probably be the slow and heavy series. I've heard alot of good stuff about that one.
Thanks again!

I would do the 4DS Series, personally. I love, love and then love them some more! They are like an updated CTX sorta. Although, you can't go wrong with CTX either.

I have the 4 day split series which so far I love. The lower intensity step workout is a little to tricky for me right now but other than that I love it.

So, I still am not sure what to get next. I really really need to lose like 30 pounds. Will CTX help me lose weight? Can anyone compare that to the P90X series because I was also thinking of getting that.
Thanks for any input.
T. :)

Hey Jonahnah - thank for your reply. My goals are to lose weight (30 pounds at least) and to build muscle. I like to see my muscles. I was doing really good for a while (my arms and shoulders were looking really good!!!) and then got sick and had a major backslide which I am trying to recover from. I'm having a tough time controlling my eating. I had been working out 6 days a week before I got sick. I am still trying to build back up to 6. I am at 4 days in a row now. After christmas I am really going to try to get back to 6 days a week. I need to have my gall bladder removed so probably what will happen is I will get there and then have my gall bladder removed and be back to square one. They say gall bladder surgery isn't that bad and the recovery is quick so that's what I'm hoping for!!!
Anyway, I have a ton of Cathes - these are the one I don't have but want eventually:

CTX
Body Blast Timesaver
The Terminator
Slow & Heavy
Pure Strength
Rythmic Step+IM+MIC
Stretch Max

Cardio Hits, The Classics & IMAX3 are also on my long term list. I will get those three after I have all the ones I mentioned up above. Probably not for awhile!!!! hahahaha

Thanks again for your input.

I also recommend CTX. It is a great mix of cardio and weights. I find I pull it out all of the time. There is plenty of cardio to burn the fat as well as great, short, and effective weight training.

I don't think you will be sorry.

Terri

BTW, Timesaver is a bust. I never get it out.

None. Save your money and apply it to the cost of STS, which films in February. It's going to be a 10-dvd set and probably not cheap. It will also probably get rave reviews and you'll be kicking yourself for having already spent your money.

Do you think the presale will start in February too? I may take your advice and hold onto my money for that. Do you know how much the pre-order price for the gym style series was? I did not get into Cathe until after that was already over. I bought them all separately. I'm just curious. Maybe the new series will be around the same price since the Gym Style Series was alot of DVDs. I will be preordering STS whether I have the money or not but since it is probably going to be very expensive I guess I should just wait. Oh well. No new DVDs for me for awhile.
Thanks!!!!!

No clue. But I hope the presale will start then. To my mind, if your funds are limited (whose aren't?) it makes sense to hold out for STS. From the blog descriptions it sounds like STS will be the most versatile weight training dvd's Cathe's ever made. Weight training systems are the big approach now and there are a lot out there but I never bought because, frankly, I'm not familiar with the people involved. I've been waiting for Cathe to go this way because a system where all the workouts work together is the best approach. And it's Cathe, so you know you can trust it will be super effective.. Only you can decide for you. But STS pretty much sounds like the answer to my weight training prayers. And I believe I also read here somewhere (?) she's considering a cardio "system. Better yet.

I just wish I had an idea on how much the new system will cost when the presale starts. I'm going to order when the presale starts because its Cathe and I know the workouts will be wonderful. I had been considering getting P90X but have heard too many conflicting things about it. Some love it and some hate it so I hate to spend all that money and be disappointed. I know I won't be with Cathe so I will wait. I may just get one Cathe DVD now to hold me over until the new ones come out!!!
STS sounds really awesome to me too!!! A cardio system would be great too but sometimes her step workouts are too complicated for me. I love her bootcamp/drill like workouts and kickboxing much more than the step workouts. Most of the step workouts i have are doable and some I had to practice but there are a few like IMAX 3 which I have attempted several times and just decided my brain cannot comprehend all the foot moves because they change too quickly. I am step challenged. HAHAHAHA. But, that's okay. I have her non-step workouts that I do plus I have other cardio workouts (mainly kickboxing) that I do also.
Sorry for the babbling. I should be working anyway!
Thanks for the reply. I think I am just going to order one of the workouts that I wanted and wait for the STS presale to start.

I JUST NOW(!) got Slow & Heavy and Butts & Guts delivered to my house. I've been using GS and am excited to change things up a bit. Can't wait for STS, though.
