Which CTX Video to start with?

Hey all! I just received the CTX series in the mail today and have barely begun to preview the tapes. Anyways, this is my first really major Cathe purchase, and after watching Interval Step I'm realizing that this choreography is going to be a major challenge! I was wondering which of the CTX series cardio segments have the simplest choreography, and therefore would be the simplest to learn, and also might be easy to modify (I know they'll be aerobically challenging to me as well).

A little background on me: I'm a beginner/intermediate exerciser, and the only other Cathe cardio I have is the Wedding Tape, but I loved it and caught on the first 1 or 2 times through. I am fairly weenie as far as weight work and everything is concerned, only have dumbells and use 8 lbs max on some arm work. I'm looking to lose about 10 or 15 pounds and mainly drop a couple of clothing sizes. My plan was to spend about 3 weeks learning the CTX series and doing one tape a day (so each body part once a week), and then making my plans from there depending on my results. Thanks for your help!

Okay here goes

This is what I did I did the vids in order, as they work so well that way. It took me about 6 weeks to get most of the moves down.

I would say 10-10-10 and Power Circuits mainly because they were much shorter choreography than All Step and Interval Step (other members of the forum can and will probably disagree with me).

I don't have the Wedding tape so I don't know who it compares with CTX series.

Hey Amanda,

CTX is a fun series and I'm sure you'll be pleased with the results. Just make sure you put a couple days between Power Circuit and Leaner Legs because Power Circuit has leg work with the barbell.

Enjoy!

I would do all 6 in one week so you don't fall in love with one and ignore the others, (I have been known to do this, so maybe it's just a concern for me). In terms of order, my only suggestion would be saving All Step for last, as it is the trickiest (but a blast)!
Sat. 10-10-10
Sun. Power Circuit
Mon. Step Intervals
Tue. Kickbox
Wed. Leaner Legs
Thu. All Step
Fri. Rest
Have fun!!!!

Hi! This is my 4th week into CTX and this is the order I have been doing it:

Step & Intervals
Power Circuit
10-10-10
Kickbox
All Step
Leaner Legs

I pretty much know the steps and this is my first time doing Cathe workouts. I'm really my workouts, they're such fun and INTENSE.

Enjoy your workouts!

I actually would put the bigger muscle tapes to the front of the week. Leaner Legs would have to be done on Saturday, chest on Sun., back on Mon..etc. I just would want to give those my all..you don't think so, but cardio does drain some leg strength..other than that, I don't think it much matters, but yeah, don't do just one all week. Do all 6. Remember, this rotation is one body part per day, so you don't want to be imbalanced, right??

Just wanted to tell everyone thanks for your help and encouragement. I tried Step and Intervals the next day and realized that a lot of it is harder to follow just watching than it is to actually do it. I'm sure I didn't really look like Cathe when I did the moves, but I ended up back in the right spots at the right times, so I was very happy! :) Plus, the chest work really made my muscles burn even with just 3 lb weights. So, I can tell I'm going to be very happy with this series. Today I did Power Circuit, and I liked it too, although this time I really gave it my all and did all the impact (with Step and Intervals I was "learning", so I just watched the power 15's), and with all the jumps in there it really kicked my tail! I have a long ways to go, but I know that I can just modify till I get there.

Anyways, thanks very much! I've been searching archives for people's different rotations using this series, but I'm just going to start out with a one video a day rotation and be sure and separate Power Circuit and Leaner Legs. I am having soo much fun already though.. I love having to think a little bit during the cardio... it keeps me distracted and just makes the time fly by! Thanks again! Hopefully I'll be posting again in a month or so to tell ya'll how many inches I've lost! :)
