Where to go after Basic Step + Body Fusion

Hello, everyone. I'm brand new to Cathe and started with Basic Step because I heard Cathe's step work is intricate and takes some time to learn. I really loved Basic Step and caught on well. Could someone help me figure out which video/DVD to try next? I'm a 5-year Firm veteran and I'm looking for more fun in step and challenging weight work. Anything you could suggest would be a big help to a newbie!

Thanks to everyone in advance!

Hi Susan,

I too am a FIRMie who started with Basic Step. The next one I tried was Step Heat and the Timesaver DVD. I think Step Heat was a good progression to learning Cathe's moves, and there's a great ab section at the end.

Good Luck!

You can try the ctx series. The dvd with will be awesome . Step blast workout has a easy and fun coreography and SJP has 16 minues of easy step, segments of weight and hi/low.Yesterday I did the premix 90 minutes with SB and SJP and it was a good workout. For weight training I prefer ME as an endurance training with power hour and the upper body split of the ctx series . You have one dvd with MIS,Power hour and body max. I love the PS series too.You have lot of options to choose.Enjoy your workouts.

I second the emotions about the CTX series and the Timesaver. I think each of these will be a good pathway into more of what Cathe has to offer.

The CTX ("Cross Train Express") series is a 2-disc set that contains 4 complete workouts on one DVD (each of which includes a cardio component, isolated-muscle strength training component, and at least 2 ab workouts), and 2 complete workouts on the other DVD (one of which is another cardio+strength+ab routine and the 6th of which is a leg-strengthening blaster called "Leaner Legs" that also has a great traditional ab routine). The other DVD also has a composite of all of the upper body strength segments AND all of the ab segments in separate premixes. CTX is great because it offers several cardio modes AND introduces you to interval blasts in Step Intervals and 10-10-10.

The Timesaver DVD was created from existing footage from the Body Blast Series and adds bonus footage. It too offers cardio + strengthening components into 5 separate workouts. You'll get used to more complex choreography, and higher intensity, in Timesaver, as you will as well with CTX.

Along these lines, would several folks be willing to give a Cathe-choreography spectrum, from easiest to hardest? I love the step workouts once I learn the moves, but I'd like to know which progression to go along so I don't get so frustrated. What's easiest choreography all the way to most complicated? Thanks.

I think Rhythmic Step is probably the most complicated choreography as well as the fastest bpm speed, and Interval Max 1 is the simplest choreography but nosebleed intensity because of the intervals. The Step Blast step workout gets pretty twirly too.

CTX step is somewhere in between, and the choreo gets even simpler when you are talking about Power Circuit and Step Intervals; can't speak to Allstep because I've never done that particular workout. If it's a Cathe Tutorial into step choreography that you want, I do think CTX is a good next investment, as is Timesaver, because you have shorter step segments and can practice them easily.
