When you first started doing Cathe workouts....

did you experience soreness? Especially in areas that you never were sore before? I just started doing Cathe workouts in mid-late July after doing the Firm for over a year. I wasn't being challenged anymore and needed to go to the next level. Cathe definitely is challenging me (be careful what you wish for!!) and I love working out with her. As I'm doing more and more of her workouts, I've started to notice that my muscles are sore. I'm sore in places that I am normally not: biceps, calves, abs and hamstrings. I definitely feel that I am getting a good, solid workout and just gradually rising to her level of intensity. Just curious if others have experienced this when first working out with Cathe.

Definately experiencing all of the above. I went from the firm and jumped right into Cathe's hardcore series fat loss rotation, big, big mistake. Talk about sore and tired...I got smart and went to Cathe's beginning rotations and am currently on week 4. Lost 2 inches off the waistline and 1 inch off both thighs so far in the last 3 weeks...The hardcore series is in the future maybe in a couple of months, but who knows, by then I think I might be able to keep up with Cathe's new dvds she just filmed, (wishful thinking)...

But wow,I thought I was in shape before, what an eye opener...

What workouts of Cathe's did you advance to???

Soreness? What soreness? I felt PAIN. The good kind. :p

You are going to see results and you are going to be addicted. Prepare your credit card. Welcome to the madness. :)

Yes, Cathe is addictive!

Within 1.5 months of finding Cathe, I had purchased everything she had ever made, including pre-ordering. My DH kind of freaked out when he found out how much I had spent, but that outburst quickly went away when he remembered the results I was getting. ;-)

I started out with the IMAX/RS/MIC dvd. Those are some tough workouts to start with! I threw up after my first time doing IMAX 1 and about passed out during the hi/lo part of MIC. I know how you feel. It gets better. What is GREAT is when you go back to one of those workouts that just about killed you and you kill it! IMAX just isn't that bad anymore after a couple months of Cathe. I am SO looking forward to the pain that awaits me when I get the new ones!

Oh yes...I did too much at first b/c I was so excited to learn her workouts...I was EXTREMELY sore when I first started out and still get sore when upping weights or changing my workouts up. I've learned to take it easy and to take rest days when needed and to only push for certain periods of time. I too, started out with tough Cathe's. I just ordered all the workouts that interested me and learned them without thought to what I SHOULD have started out with. It was fun and I enjoyed the challenge. You may want to alternate with your Firms until you build up and incorporate some stretching and yoga into your routine to help with stiffness and soreness. Enjoy your new found workouts!!!

Have been doing cathe over a year and if I push myself I still get DOMS - or sometimes if I take a few too many days off the same happens.

That is just the muscles building - as long as you can still walk, get up from a chair, sit on the toity, pick up a bag of groceries, then Yippee ! If not, then back of a bit next time. It is all about seeing where you are at yourself and adjusting to get a good workout from there.

And with all the rotations out there you can have loads of fun while still working on a goal for yourself.

What more could you ask? }(

Carrie...

First, congrats on the inches that you lost!! I first started with the beginner step package. Basic Step became too easy quicky, so I went onto Low Impact Step. Once I could do that on an 8" step, I then went to Low Max. This became quite challenging for me to learn and I had to do the premixes before doing the entire workout. Now I can do the entire workout on an 8" step with no problems. After that, I did Step Blast. I HAD to do that after learning there are 2 Prince songs in the workout (Prince is my fav artist). I learned it pretty quickly by doing the premixes. Only took me 3x to master the moves. So I ended up buying the Hardcore series (minus Hardcore Extreme--- that will be later), Body Blast Series, Intensity Series and High Step Circuit and High Step Training. Right now I'm doing premixes before attempting to do entire workouts. Actually, I'm having fun, but I can't help noticing how different my body feels just after 1 1/2 months of working out with Cathe.

Thank you everyone for your responses. They have been very helpful to me. Now, I know it's NOT me!!! Within my first week of doing Cathe, I quickly realized that I'm not as strong as I thought I was and I started questioning just "how good of shape I was in". I was so winded when I first did Low Impact Step, that I wondered if I would ever finish. But I kept at it and quickly noticed an improvement. Cathe has taken me to a level that I didn't think was possible, which I'm thankful for. I love that she has premixes to make the workouts doable when you're first starting out. For once I can say that I LOVE working out instead of dreading it. Working out has become my bright spot of my day and I'm learning to cherish it. It's MY time....

PS I'm happy to report that I am addicted to Cathe. I just finished buying the Body Blast Series, Intensity Series, Hardcore Series (minus Hardcore Extreme), Ab Hits, High Step Circuit and High Step Training. I've also preordered the new workouts and currently creating a list in the order in which to buy the remaining workouts that I don't have. Didn't take much for me to come over to CATHELAND!! :p

Jacque...

So true, so true!! I keep telling myself I'm still breathing, so I must be doing something right!! But, you're right.. I need to allow my body to take time and allow the muscles to build. And yep... I AM having lots of fun!!

Shonda

Melody...

You are so funny!!! Yep, you do get sore in places that you just didn't think were possible!! :7

Shonda

Hey Shonda!

I still get sore when I go back to the GS workouts after a break from them....every time. :p

I tried to get the last 6 dvds that I don't have with the Collage 20% discount, but I was a little to late on that deal..darn! But you have inspired me and I'm going to get them anyway. ;-)

Shonda~WELCOME to Catheland!!! Enjoy all your new workouts!
