Just DH and I, and he leaves it for me. Doesn't bother even to cram it down a bit. In the kitchen, I installed one of those in-cabinet, slide-out wastebaskets, and when it gets full he just opens the cabinet door, stuffs trash in there and then closes the door before it falls back out. Grrrrr!! In the other rooms, he just lets it overflow until I take it out. Again, Grrrr!!!

There definitely should have been an "other" category!! I cram it down until you can't get anymore in (glad super stretch is a beautiful thing) then take it out. Like Adina, I am the one to take the garbage outside (and do the lawn and the housework, etc, etc, etc) because DH is disabled and can not lift anything over about 15 lbs (good thing his cat is only 12!)

I'm one of the fortunate few who voted "takes it away", because DH will actually take care of the garbage and recycling 100%.

HOWEVER..........
He will also remove his dirty clothes at night and throw them *on the floor right beside the clothes hamper*!!!!!!!!!

Last night I watched him "tidy up" the living room after the kids went to bed. He literally picked up all the crap from the floor and put it either on the couch, the coffee table, or the living room chairs. He may be defying gravity, but he's not making the house any tidier!!!

Well, we usually:
1. cram the stuff down to make more room for more crap
2. ignore it until Mom takes it away
3. Mom plays tug-of-war with the overinflated trash bag, which is now stuck in the bin, then takes it away, mumbling, Why do I have to do all the dirty stuff around here?

I understand the "serenity now" part. ;-)

Sandra - I'm LOL, sounds like your DH went to the same school of tidying up that my DH did!! Mine usually only picks up "his" stuff so things like the newspaper, the dog toys, etc. just stay there until I get around to it.

Pinky you just described my house to them as well! LOL! DH used to say it was his job to take out the trash. But over the past 5 years it's become my job, same with mowing. Sigh. We're working on getting things done with less "me" in it though. LOL!
I love Shelly's post though, that is so me at TTOM!!

My SO is like another mentioned up there by someone, he will actually take his garbage out to the big garbage can BUT LEAVE THE FULL GARBAGE CAN UNDER THE SINK!!!

I must confess. I stack all the garbage up high until DH notices to take it out. In my defense, I do all of the cooking, cleaning, about 90% of the child rearing, 50% of the time I mow the grass (I like to do it), and work full time outside of the home. It is the only thing that DH thinks he has to do. LOL He can handle the garbage.
