when does HR increase?

I know your heart rate increases w/ pregnancy, I'm just wondering if anyone knows how soon after conception it does this. I've been a runner for about a year and have noticed my HR on runs is about 10 beats/min. higher than usual, and it's hitting high early in my run. Preg tests were negative though.

I'm not an expert on pregnancy training or anything, but I have been reading a book on this topic,"Exercising through your pregnancy" by James F. Clapp III, M.D. And since noone else has taken a stab at this, I will.

It seems to me that the most basic answer to your question of "how soon after conception" is almost immediately. Sooner than a test would register you as pregnant I would think.

Of course, other things affect heart rate too, pregnant or not. For example, current state of (de)hydration. But if you run and monitor your heart rate, I imagine you have considered other reasons for the elevation.

Thanks to Gina for answering the question with the appropriate answer.

I am still battling pneumonia and am not totally up to speed.

I have considered other things, but to be this high consistently for the second week seems odd. We'll see I guess!
