What's your resting heart rate?

Apparently, mine is less than 50, which scared me at first but I realize that's good! You're supposed to test resting heartrate right after you wake up, but I had on my heart rate monitor in the afternoon, sitting on the couch, and it went back and forth from 48 to about 53, depending on how much I moved around (I was trying to stay still!). As soon as I started moving around normally it went to into the 70's.

I remember years ago it was about 80 at rest, which just goes to show you how much Cathe will whip you into shape! Now I want to test it first thing in the morning, but I still figure under 50 is pretty darn good! (Oh by the way, I'm 47 :))

Mine is 52 (that's the first-thing-in-the-morning-before-getting-up rate) even though I'm 30-40 lbs overweight. At my fittest it was about 45.

When I am sitting on the couch not doing anything, it is around 60.

I'm 47 too!

I've never tested it first thing in the morning, but when I put my Polar on in the morning before my workout, it's around 65.

Sitting watching TV is in the 55's. Lowest ever recorded was 52 taken in the morning the day I did the Fit Test for P90x.

Light walking around the house is about 70-80.

Imax 2 is about 130-160.

I'm 40. And also about 30-40lbs overweight.

I am in the low 40's!!! OMG how am I not dead???

When I put the monitor on I am about 60-70 walking around but I get up to 160-180 during w/o. Is that too high????

My HR has gone up to as high as 175 during workouts and I don't seem to have any ill effects from it. I've seen a lot of people here post the same thing. I don't think you're going too high, Ellie. :)
We have Cathe-toned hearts. They are strong enough to take it.

My HR can get as high as 180 during my workouts (usually only when I am running, or in the 170s during step blasts), so I hope that's okay!!

I've never done a straight just-woke-up heart rate check. But just puttering around daily in runs around 60-62. When ever I go donate blood, the lady always clocks me in at 62-65. Thats just walking from the car to the door, to the check in. So no real activity. A good Cathe will push me into the 170s. My blood pressure also runs on the low side of normal about 100-110/60.

I do sometimes have problems if I stand up too fast or don't eat often enough. I get a little woozy. Saw the Dr, blood sugar is fine, and even though I am overweight, she chalked it up to a kickin' good shape cardio system!! Everything else was okey dokey. Told me I may need more salt:eek: and make sure I drink enough to keep my BP up.

I do recall going to donate blood one day and my blood pressure came in at 100/60 and my heart rate at 54. She asked me if I felt ok. Told her I felt perfectly fine!! They tried to make me sit and stay longer after bc of the low starting BP/heart rate, but I assured them I was fine and not going to pass out and it was all normal.
