Hey Hey, Spring is in the air and thoughts are of fun, light and outdoorsy things. Was wondering what your favorite body lotion/fagrance is for getting the body ready for short sleeves?

At the very moment, I'm in love with Bath&Body Works' Rice Flower and Shea and Coconut Lime Verbena. The Rice is more formal and light but the Coconut Lime is tropical. They also have a Mango that is tropical as well. May have to get that one next time...LOL

I went into Bath&Body over the weekend to buy one tube of the Rice and Shea and ended up with over a $100 worth of stuff.....}(

Currently loving the Neutrogena light sesame oil lotion! Great smell and my skin is smoothe as a baby's butt!

I like Nutribiotics Essence of Grapefruit from the health food store and Neutrogena from the regular selection.

I love the Bath and Body works Citrus Basil anti Aging lotion. It took care of all the rough skin that I have had on my shins. Plus it smells sooo good! I highly recommend that scent.

I have to say I use something simple like the Johnsons new 24 hour care lotion, it is wonderfull I like how soft it leaves my skin

Wow! So far it looks like I'm going to have to check out the Sesame lotion!!! The grapefruit one sounds yummy too.

Since I'm a lupian and can't be in the sun, I discovered a mixture that will "tan" my skin and give it a glow. It lasted until winter! I used flaxseed oil, almond oil and liquid aloe vera. I look like an albino without it, yet there is nothing at all wrong with albinos....
Guess you can tell I'm ready for warm weather. :)Gotta show off my arms and 'the veins' I'm getting. But don't tell Brie....LOL

My favorites are Nivea Creamy Conditioning Oil, and Aveeno Moisturizing Oil. They are actually a very creamy lotion, but helps my dry skin...:)...Carole

Any lotion or cream from Bath&BodyWorks is a dream.:) I particularly love Plumeria and Citrus Lemon Basil. Do they still have these? Haven't been there in a looooong time.

Origins has a nice body lotion called Precipitation. It has a very light, clean fragrance, almost like no fragrance at all, which I like since I don't want it to interfere with my perfume. I've also just started using their Perfect World body lotion; also very light, clean fragrance and makes your skin feel great. And they have this great stuff called Salt Rub, which is a scrub that you use in the shower. It's got sea salt mixed with oils that exfoliate your skin while giving it lots of moisture at the same time. This is a great product for getting your skin polished and ready for those warm weather clothes!:) Sheesh, sounds like I'm peddling for Origins, doesn't it?:p I really just love their stuff!

It's so exciting to even be thinking about warm weather--it's about 65 degrees here in Boston today--woohoo!--come on spring!:7

This past weekend, I went to Victoria's Secret and picked up one called Body by Victoria (same name as the lingerie itself). It is very light, fresh and clean, and not as sweet-smelling as many of their other scents.

Wanda, I always do that when I go to Bath & Body Works, too! I spend more than $100 when going in for one thing. I like the ones you mentioned, but also one called Seaspray and Coca Cobana (coconut, obviously). Really gets you ready for spring and summer and laying out by the pool!

Take care, Sandra

Hey, Cath4me, what is this mixture you used that kept a glow? I'd be interested in this, instead of going in the sun. What made it give ou color, the almond oil?

I still have the pumpkin spice from bath and body works- I buy a ton at halloween so I have it all year through.

but I also make my own with just st Ives lotion and I add essential oils to it to fit my mood and need...for energy I whip up peppermint and rosemary...for relaxation I use lavender in it...very nice I love essential oils and this way my skin gets some added benefits too!;)

I also use Neutrogena's light sesame oil. I put it in a spray bottle and spray it on just out of the shower, before drying. My skin is so soft and silky! It's not expensive either.

Hi fox2star,
I think what helps in the 'glow' department is the flaxoil itself. This mixture, I found it in Udo Erasumus' book on flaxseed, works also, when you are actually in the sun. The aloe helps prevent the sunburn. Not sure at this writing what the almond oil does. ?
Granted it doesn't have the sunblocks, yet prehaps one could add that with the mixture.
I painted the house 2 years ago (even though I'm not to have sun), I used this mixture and I got the best suntan I ever had in my life.
I didn't blister either. I just got a nice even tan.
My DH uses just the flaxoil on his face during the winter to keep from getting the pale look from no sun. You do have to be careful and let it dry before going to bed as it will stain your pillowcases.
So the flaxoil definately has some kind of tanning factor to it.
I love it because I don't get that streaky look as I would from the 'suntanners'. Because it works with your own skin coloring, I don't get the orange look either.
Hope this helps.

Hey Wanda-Girl! How are you??? Great to see you taking a bit of a break from your studies! That coconut lime sounds great. I like B&B lotions too. The Neutrogena one sounds interesting also. I'm wondering if it's greasy since it's an oil??? Again, GR8 2 C U here!!!

I should have known that to start a thread on body lotions it would cost me some money. LOL Gotta try that SeaSpray from Body Works as well. It that a new one? I didn't see it in my local store?

Note to Debbie (got my bookwork done ahead of schedule. I need to practice the spelling and meaning of medical terms then I'm on to dicataion. I might add, this is not the easiest thing I've ever done! I'm fascinated and I know I want to do this for a job but...I'd Rather do 100 lunges with a 60# barbell. Right now, that sounds a lot easier... LOL)
