what's a good fitness magazine

I'm looking for a "serious" fitness magazine. Well, not a hard-core bodybuilding one....but not a fluff one either that is just going to keep recycling the "6 secrets to flat abs" article!

Plus, I really get annoyed with magazines that are 75% ads and only 25% articles...and even in that case, the articles are encased between a ton of ads on the page anyway!

So I'm taking suggestions for non-body-building, but non-fluff fitness magazines, that are not just pages of billboards. Does one even exist?

I would skip women's magazines altogether and get "Men's Health or "Men's Fitness." It is just FULL of useful information. I got a subscription for DH, but I read it before he does.

The only one I like is Women's Health.

I was actually tempted to buy Men's Health yesterday but felt funny getting a mens' magazine. Sounds like it's worth a look.

I got 2 free samples of Women's Health a few months ago, but did not like it at all because it was not strictly a fitness magazine...there seemed to be a lot of fluff about make-up, dating, etc., not to mention way too many ads...

I have a subscrition to "fitness". I can burn through it an about an hour. It just doesn't have enough content for me. They have some good suggestions for exersizes, but other than that I don't get too much out of it. I probably won't renew it.

Oxygen is OK but every other page is supplement ads. Ugh. I've stopped buying it because of this. Sometimes they have good articles though and the pics are motivating!

The only ones I read much anymore are Women's Health and Muscle and Fitness Hers (the latter is available only on newsstands).

I love FitnessRX. That one has alot of information and not as much fluff. I always read it cover to cover and never get bored. I think it still only comes out every two or three months. Try this one, you'll probably like it!

IMO, I don't think you'll find a "serious" fitness magazine...unfortunately. Although, the only two I get are Fitness and Oxygen, so my magazine experience is limited.

I like Oxygen much more than Fitness, but way too many supplement and weight loss ads ( I really don't think the before and after pictures are even the same person ;-) ). And way too many pages dedicated to Tosca Reno's Clean Eating book.
