What workout do you do when feeling under the weather.....

Depends on how "under the weather" I feel. Sometimes, it's best to not workout.

But, if I do, then yoga (just active enough to get a sweat going), or some low- or moderate-intensity cardio (about the equivalent of going for a walk).

I've also done short "arms" workouts just to keep them toned and to do something: a pyramid set of bicep curls, overhead presses, triceps kickbacks or standing extensions, first with a light weight and higher reps (20-24), then with a heavier weight and fewer reps (18), then the heaviest weight and fewer reps (15), then going back down the pyramid.

If I feel sluggish, than I lower my step height and I do RS or Steb Blast (minus the blasts) . . . otherwise I would also do yoga if not feeling up to cardio, but needed a good stretch.

If I am down for the count sick - I sleep and do nothing and pop tons of vitamin c and drink a gallon of orange juice. No kidding! I drink orange juice and eat oranges when I am sick! Works like a charm!

I pulled a muscle in my back Saturday night while dancing at a local wine festival, so I've been unable to move too much the last few days. Today is the first day the back is only twinging me so I did RS this morning on a low step, and eliminated the pivots and a lot of the hops (yes, I was VERY careful).

I also sometimes fall back on old Tae Bo workouts when I'm not in the mood for too much activity. The Tae Bo Cardio Circuit 2 is 50 minutes but it's very low key (I break a sweat but barely). It merely gets the blood circulating. I could not high kick, punch, twist or do ab work today which is why I avoided Tae bo, though.

yoga and pilates then sometimes after i do that i might feel well enough for cardio. it really depends on the situation and how i feel. sometime i feel bad enough but can still do something other times its why bother.

I've had a bad cold this week, with sore throat and three days ago I lost my voice.

I am not working out through this. My body needs to get well, not be forced to drum up precius reserves to fight my way through Step Blast.

The most I do on days like this is walking.

If it's a physically "under the weather" thing, like a head cold, then I go for yoga.

If it's a mental or PMS induced "under the weather" thing, then I pull out Cardio & Weights - a little bit of everything, with some fun factor.

Another vote for High Step Circuit! I usually do this the day (at least 24 hours+) after I donate blood.

If I'm feeling strong, but mentally not up for working out, I pick Step Blast or Step Jump and Pump (they are both just so much fun).

If I'm a bit tired or sore, but not sick, I usually pick Cardio Kicks or any CTX cardio. Or, I'll do just five intervals from one of the IMAXs followed by some Pilates.

When I'm getting over an illness or just moderately under the weather, Janis Saffell kickboxing (particularly Strike Zone)works well for me, as does some of Karen Voight's stuff, or I just use my elliptical or stationary bike.

Cathe's new Low Impact Step is good for those bad days too (I was very pleasantly surprised by this one)

WHen I'm really sick, I pretty much do nothing.

I don't know how anyone could do yoga with a head cold. I can't breathe through my nose when I have one, so yoga is out for me.

If I'm feeling drained, but not ill, I will usually do one of my easier workouts, like an old Kathy Smith workout or a Jane Fonda. Sometimes I'll pull out Cathe's beginner step workout. Yesterday, I wasn't in the mood to do cardio after dinner, but I knew I had to because it was on my rotation for this week, so I did the drill combos of Kickmax. I never did Kickmax before, but everyone said the combos were pretty easy, and they were. Got in a good sweat, but it didn't set my heart rate soaring. Nice!

If I don't feel good, I usually do Cardio and Weights or SJP, because I think of them as Cathe-lite. Or just the 3 combos from KPC, no high intensity stuff.
