What weight workout should I start with?

I am a cathe newbie. Actually, I just received my beginner step workouts and actual step yesterday. I LOVED IT! Now, my question is what weight workout should I get? Here is what came with the beginner set:
1. Basic Step and body fusion
2. low impact step
3. lo max
4. some stretching tape...i don't remember the name.

I used to do the firm, but stopped when I got pregnant last march. I have done maybe 5 firm weights only tapes since my DD has been born (13wks old). However, I did have a c-section, so I took my time to heal before getting back to it.

What can you recommend?

Basic Step and Body Fusion has a couple of upper and lower body add ons that are a pretty good intro to Cathe's weight training. They use light dumbbells and exercise tubing. I used them for about a month before attempting Power Hour.

PH kicked me in the pants, but I stuck with it and within just a few weeks I was able to complete all the reps (with a much lighter weight than Cathe's, but still...).

My suggestion - pick a workout you think you might like, then jump in with both feet. I chose Power Hour, and also enjoyed MIS (which is on the same DVD).

LIS (Low Impact Step) has a good weight segment + a great circuit premix! I still use it on my lighter days and just go heavier on the weights.

I think you could modigy any of Cathe's programs, just use less weight and move up when you are stronger. I started with the CTX series years ago and I still use it. Melissa

I also say power hour is a good one to start with. She does use a barbell, but you could probably modify to dumbells if you don't have one. I usually drop my bar and grab dumbells during the bicep sequence. Ouch!
