What water do you drink?

I am very picky about the water I drink. I don't like our tap water and I don't have room for one of those large 5 gallon bottle coolers in my home. I go through bottled water so fast but I feel so guilty for wasting the bottles but I know I shouldn't reuse them. I do recycle them but there has to be a better way. I would like to find a pitcher with a filter but I don't know if they work or if they are worth the money. Please give me some advice. Thanks in advance:)

We have a 5 gallon cooler and it really doesn't take up much space at all. You need about 12" X 18" spot (with the 12" against the wall). My DH then takes the bottles to a water dispenser outlet and they exchange them. We usually get 3 at a time (15 gallons) and it only costs us about $9. We bought our cooler at Home Depot. But I also understand, if you don't have the room, you don't have the room!

Hi Wendy....I have used one of the Brita water pitchers in my fridge forever!! I buy bottled water and then refill with the filtered water....best thing IMO...:)...Carole

I use the reverse osmosis machines in the grocery store. I refill my gallon jugs once a week. It works well for me.

"Drinkmore" is the best water I have ever tasted.....

"Deer Park". The bottles fit on the bottom shelf of our refrigerator, and our local discount store - Marc's - has them cheap - LOL!!

I have a Brita filter installed to my kitchen faucet and you can turn it on and off, depending if you want to use regular tap water or drink water. I think it's absolutely awesome.

I have a Brita pitcher which I fill and use for my drinking water. If I had a deep enough kitchen sink, I'd get one of the Brita filters which attach directly to the faucet.

I use a Brita filter pitcher and leave the pitcher sitting out on the counter, rather than in the fridge. I live in such a cold climate that the water stays on the cool side. If I put it in the fridge, I would drink only a fraction of the amount that I do, because it would make me too cold. Now that we're smuck into winter, I also have a cup of herbal tea brewing at all times. I'd like to get a thermos pitcher to leave on the counter beside the water pitcher, so I can brew a big pot of tea in the morning, rather than individual cups all day long.

Cheers,
Sandra

I love Poland Spring. We buy the 2.5 gallon jugs with the tap at the bottom, it's around $3 a jug - not very economical but I also drink canned Polar Seltzer since I like a little carbonation now and then.

My 2 faves are Volvic & Amelia Springs. Also, I understand from my boss that the Brita filter works great.

I bought a reverse osmosis system from Culligan. I LOVE it!! It has it own faucet for drinking water and also is hooked up to my ice maker. :)

I also have reverse osmosis. It's cheaper in the long run and tastes much better than bottled water. My dh bought a 3 gallon tank at Menards and installed it under our sink. It is worth the couple hundred dollars, believe me. The water is excellent. In fact, he is at SIL's new house installing one right now. I am a huge water drinker, and nothing beats the taste of reverse osmosis!

Hey Wendy!!
We've been drinking reverse osmosis water for about 12 years now. We have an 18L jug with a pump in a corner of the kitchen for drinking and refill it weekly. I find this water very clean and refreshing.

Take Care
Laurie:)

Thank you all SO much for the advice. I am now debating between a Brita Pitcher and reverse osmosis. I don't think I can afford the reverse osmosis if it a couple hundred dollars so I will probably try the Brita pitcher for now. I knew I could get great advice here(as always:)) - you all are amazing!

Thanks so much, Wendy
