Hi fit ladies!

I'm doing GS series and loving it. My body is feeling nice and so much more toned already.

What worked for you?
Did you do it one or 2 times a week?
Did you add other weight workouts - endurance, circuits?
How many weeks did you do it for?
Did you rotate weeks eg. GS, S&H, Pyramids?

I'd love to hear what worked for you.

Thanks so much

I'm doing a GS rotation right now. I do CT, Legs, BSB, repeat for the week. I'll also do cardio for about 30 minutes or so three times a week. Lately it's been running, but today I did BM step, twice.

Thanks everyone...

I'm thinking I will try

GS 2 times a week (I love L&G so will substitute for one of the Legs)

I'll see how it works. I'm not crazy about endurance type workout outs (ME, PH).

Thanks!

Robyn

When I did my GS rotation I did each workout 1xweek and cardio 3xweek. I love to do more cardio but since I'm trying to add muscle to my stubborn ecto frame, I cut back to only 3x. I added core 3-4xweek. I found cutting the cardio gave me more energy to work harder and heavier on the weights, my body did not feel like I was tearing it down.

I'm going to try a rotation where I do each GS 2xweek, but haven't figured out the best approach as I am not sure I can get each in 2xweek in their entirety and include core and my yoga. Maybe first w/o of the week I'll do the full workout of each and 2nd time do timesavers.

BTW I gained strength and added a little muscle as well as definition with the GS first rotation.

Enjoy your GS.:)

Robyn,
When I did a GS rotation I did GS BBS on one day and I did GS CT on another day and I did MM on another day and I did cardio 6 days a week an I had great results. I did not do GS Legs in that rotaion.

Interestingly I had better results when I upped the Gym Styles to about 1 1/2 times a week. I would get in about 4-5, but not 6 workouts. LIke:
mon-bsb
tues-legs
weds-cardio
thurs-ct
fri-legs
sat-bsb
sun-rest
but as you can see, I cut way back on cardio. I figured the standing legs was pretty cardio for me-it got my HR up there.

Thanks ladies.

I'm leaning towards for 3 weeks I'd love to build definition on upper body and lose the 5 lbs I've gained over the last 2 years

S - PS Chest Tricep
IMAX2 or Imax 3

M - PS Legs or L G
KPC or KM

T - PS Back, Should Bicep

W - Rest

T- PS Chest Tricep
LM

F - PS Legs or L G
KPC or KM

S - PS Back, Should Bicep

I did GS each once a week, but next time I do it, I'm adding an extra lower body day in so I do lower body with weights 2 days a week.

I also split up the workout so I did one upper body on "day 1," lower body on "day 3" and the second upper body on "day 5," to have a longer recovery time between upper body workouts. This worked really well for me.

Are these videos really different than Cathe's other tapes, say, MIS or the Pyramid up only premix?? I KINDA want these tapes but am afraid it would be a needless purchase.???

I so much like the pace of slow and heavy better. I wish she would make something in between S&H and GS. The clips I have seen of GS seem like the reps are a bit too fast still. I really like to feel each and every rep w/o feeling like I am crazily pushing up and down, you know?

Gimme some feedback...;-)

Janice, I think they are plenty different. I get major DOMS from the GS Series! Cathe also incorporates the band for bonus burn and you just feel it different then using weights. The leg workout is great too because it has standing AND floorwork. I personally don't think the moves are too fast but if you do, slow them down, rewind that section and do extra! Have I convinced you yet? Great series IMO!

Janice,

I have to say that the Gym Style Series is the very best Cathe purchase I've made so far! It really doesn't move too fast while you are doing it and you can always pause the dvd to get a slightly longer recovery if you need!

I have the BEST definition I've EVER had in my arms and this may sound corny but the chest workouts have helped "the sisters" sit up a little nicer!;)

Once a week was enough. I went as heavy as I could with CT and BSB, and either matched or went lighter than Cathe with Legs. Eventually I split them up as such: chest/back, shoulders and arms. When I separated tricep work from chest work, I was able to lift heavier for triceps. And with only two body parts for chest and back day, I could add pull-ups/chin-ups to the back work.

Other workouts during the weeks I used GS were kickboxing and steady state step. I used them for three months straight, alternating two weeks of GS with a week of lighter weights/high rep like PH for upper body and LL for lower, or moderate weight work like CTX-UB and PLB.

Hi ladies!

Thanks for all your posts It was nice to come back and see this on the first page of the forum.

Great advice. Nice to hear Terri about the added bonus ;)
Pinky you look awesome so always nice to hear what you do to get that way.

I'm still in stress mode with my son's medical issues... so motivation is so difficult and you provide it.
