What type of bag for heavy bag bonus?

I have the kind of bag that has the plastic base that holds water to stay in place. It sits on the floor and the height of the bag is adjustable. Will this work or do I need the kind of bag that hangs. I can't wait to do this workout! Thanks:)

You should be fine with your current bag. We use the Century Wavemaster XXL standing bags in the Bonus Heavy Bag workout in MMA.

Very doubtful. Stores are not interested in buying products from a company that only sells one item in a category like Boxing or MMA. They want to deal with a company like Everlast that sells a complete line of this type of equipment. This market is already well served by companies like Title Boxing, Ringside and Everlast.

Punching gloves?

I don't have punching gloves. I'm assuming that we will need these too. I will do a new thread

I had one with the base you fill with water. My husband would punch it and it would fall over. We could fill it with sand but then we wouldn't be able to move it easily. I have since bought a 100 lb. TKO brand bag (Amazon) and an Everlast stand (Walmart) rated for a 100 lb. bag. It is relatively inexpensive, solid and works for both of us.

I have a WaveMaster XXL bag in my garage gym. I got really lucky and scored a brand new one off of my local Craigslist for $75! These bags retail for about $250. My suggestion is to definitely check Craigslist. Another option would be to check with a local Karate/MMA/TaeKwanDo studio to see if they are selling any of their used bags. I went to a studio earlier this year, and they actually refreshed their bags about once a year. I asked the owner what he did with the old ones, and he said that he sells them for about $75.

I hope these suggestions help.

Best of luck!

Thanks for reminding me abt craigslist, but I never would've thought to ask any local studios!
