Have a great day!!

Hi All,

I'm curious to see what others' rotations will be for January. I've been doing my variation of a "Focus on Strength" rotation this December. I'm amazed at how my DOMS has decreased from week 1. So, I know I have to change it up now starting in January. I might try to use CTX, but do two body parts a day instead of just the one. It's great having the dvd for this!

Unless Cathe posts a rotation for Jan 2005 that I like better I am going to do the Jan 2004 rotation. The focus is to rev your metabolism. I plan to use my Bowflex to add some additional weight work to the rotation.

I don't have one. Rotations make me crazy! lol x(

I have tried more than once to create a rotation for myself ahead of time using my different work out videos but it never works. I'm never happy with it or I just don't know where to start!:-(

I am also wondering, if I actually successfully created one, would I stick to it?? I don't know that I would. I have pretty much always chosen what I will do 5 mins before I do it. If I have a work out in a rotation and I don't feel like doing it, it's not gonna get done...I guess that's where I am lacking in discipline...Oh well. lol I will just keep doing what I do and to heck with rotations, right? lol :p

I just got over the flu/cold (missed over 2 weeks of working out x( ) so I'm starting back slow and started the Timesaver DVD today. I did workout 1 today and was happy to discover it was easy. I thought after nearly 3 weeks with no workout I'd be too weak.

I'm planning on doing Timesaver thru Friday, then I think I'll follow the rotation for either the Body Blast series or the Intensity series that have been posted by Cathe.

I'm really, really new to the idea of planned rotations, but I think it's a great idea. I used to do whatever I was in the mood for that day, but I love the idea of planning out at least 2-3 weeks of workouts and designing them with a purpose. I think my workouts will be more effective this way.

You guys, I'm really new to rotations too! I use to do just whatever I felt like; but, I found I wasn't getting the results I desired. Now I preplan my workouts and it is great!

Okay...I guess pre-planned rotations are the way to go and I am willing to try this BUT, where do I start? How do I know what to include and how often to include it, etc? I'm so confused!x( Can anyone help me? ;(

Wendy,
To get started, you just need to decide what your goal is. Are you more interested in muscle strength (toning/firming) or are you more intersted in weight loss? Whatever your goal is where you put the focus of your rotation. Toning/firming would have more workouts using heavier weights and a weight loss goal would have more and longer cardio sessions:) No matter what your goal is you still want to hit the three areas of fitnes each week (strenght, cardio & flexibility).

The easiest way is to follow Cathe's rotations. I don't yet have that many of her tapes, so it is really hard for me to follow her rotations which is why I made up my own that will work for me.

But having the rotation has definitely helped me to increase my fitness level!

Give it a shot:)

Thanks for the advice, Lisa! I will definately give it a try!

Question: Is it better to incorporate a wide range of work outs that fit your specific goal or just pick a few to repeat several times?

I'm very new to Cathe. I only have a few of her work outs so following her rotations won't work for me right now. I am loaded up on the Firm though so I could incorporate them as well until I add more to my Cathe collection...which I am dying to do, by the way, but I really need to finish paying off Christmas first! x(

Thanks again!:)

I agree on the Cathe Jan 2004 rotation. It sounds like what I put together myself for last week and this week with two big eating days instead of my usual one.

I felt like a machine when I did MIC followed by HSTA cardio - I can't believe I had the energy to do it, but the excess calories drove me on.

Wendy, I usually pick a few videos that are 'goal specific' and repeat those during that rotation. The reason is because.. for one...I'm not very coordinated...so it takes me several attempts before I feel like I'm getting everything right. The other reason is because if I'm concentrating on weights I like to see if I can increase the amount of weight I use for 'a particular' video by the end of my rotation.

:) Yes, Cathe does have to wait until my bills are paid too;-)

have a great day

Lisa,

Well I put together a 4 week rotation that concentrates on cardio using the basic step and body fusion dvd, my gazelle and the cardio hits dvd that I have yet to try! ;) I basically made alternating days of strictly cardio and the other days I threw some weight training in but still with mostly cardio. I also intend to do a 15 minute stretch tape every other day.

Wish me luck! :D

I do wish you luck!! I'm sure you'll like it:D :D

The important thing is that you really try to stick to your rotation. Try not to deviate too much...that way you will know how to adjust it for the next time. You will be able to see what works for you and what doesn't and then adjust accordingly. Plus changing your focus around a little makes it new and exciting:+

Have a great day

You are not gonna believe this, Lisa! I deviated already today!x( LMAO! I didn't even stay on track with cardio/weights or just cardio...not only did I do a different video but I did all cardio on a split day! LOL That's okay tho. I think I'll just pretend it didn't happen and continue on with my planned rotation.

Thanks for all of the advice and I am promising myself right now that I will NOT to "go off the track" again! :+

Just the idea of pre-planned work out is nice...it's give you drive coz you know what you have to do and you want to get it done. It's like a little extra motivation so I really need to try to stick to it!

Take care.

I think Cathe will have a new rotation for January 05......at least I hope so! I started following her rotations last January and made the most progress ever this year! Happy New Year everyone!!!
