What is your favorite Christi Taylor video?

I've only been doing Cathe now that I'm more advanced. It's really hard to try anything other than Cathe but I'm afraid I should mix up my workouts a bit more so I don't get burned out on just Cathe. I've never done any Christi Taylor videos - but I am thinking of giving it a try. What do you all suggest? TIA:)

I may not be the best one to answer, but I'm in the same situation as you and have done some research...

I noticed the hardcore Christi fans were disappointed in her "Totally" series, and stated that she had "dumbed down" the choreography. Heck, that's exactly what I need! "Dumbed down" Christi choreo! So that's where I've started. I purchased her Totally Cool Step, and this past weekend practiced the first half on the 4" platform. I think I got about 80% of it! She has modifiers in the back that don't do all the turns and I pretty much followed them. Also on the DVD (not sure about VHS) is a "Move Master" and she shows the routine at a slow tempo.

It was really fun, more like dancing, and Christi has a great personality. Believe me, I'm a klutz, and I need good cueing. Christi cues differently than Cathe, but I think I'll pick it up in a couple more tries.

But your question was which is your favorite video.... I guess I didn't answer that. I did notice Still Steppin got mentioned on a -10 videos you would want to have on a desert island- list.

I agree that it is good to have a variety. The only problem is that there is such a small advanced pool to choose from. I have Christi's Still Steppin, which I really love. It's a lot of fun. I just got Solid Gold Step and it also looks fun, but I have only previewed it and have not done the workout yet. It looks pretty dancy. I'm just learning Kristin Kagen's Step This Way 2. I like it, advanced, fun intense. Seasun Ziegler is suposed to be pretty good too. I would check out Collage's website for short clips and reviews and visit VF for reviews as well.:)

I have Christi's "Solid Gold Step", "Stepping Zone" and "Still Steppin" and I would definitely have to say that "Still Steppin" is SO MUCH FUN! The music is wonderful and I love the choreography.

if you are looking for a advanced workout Mindy Mylrea is a great alternative. Her workouts are fun and well cued. I love Cathe but Mindy is also a good option.

If you want value for your money, then you should get her Fantastic Four dvd which contains 4 of her workouts. Personally, I love Still Jumpin'. While Christi herself is an excellent instructor, I don't really care much for one of her background exerciser, Theresa. It's like she's trying to steal the limelight from Christi or something. Other than that, her workouts are excellent!

I've tried all of her step videos and they are all really fun! The music in all of them is great! I think the easiest one to learn was Totally Cool Step.

I do not have the step videos of christi.I only have tottaly hot cardio and still jumping just for fun. I love the second the most.:)

I have all of Christie's workouts and I think she is a great compliment to Cathe. Still Steppin and Solid Gold Step both have great music and are a lot of fun!!

Aila:)

I love Christi's workouts and have most of them. If you are looking for more floor work to kind of mix in with Cathe's step workouts, I would suggest "Still Jumpin Just for Fun" or "Totally Hot Cardio". They would be very good ones if you are new to her workouts. They are alot of fun and don't make your feet think you have lost your mind. Her earlier stuff (workouts pre the "Heaven" series ) can be tricky for your feet. I just got done with Hi/Lo Heaven and had too much fun even though I've done it at least 100 times! No joke!!

I did Solid Gold Step this moring for the first time and thought I would give my input on this one.

Likes: the first part (25 min.?) the step is horizontal and the routine is a lot of fun. I found her choreography not too challenging to catch on to. I broke a sweat pretty quickly, but then again it has been very warm here lately, so that may be a factor. Her cueing is awesome as usual and I could modify to make the moves a little more intense. There are also a few extras on this dvd for total body work.
However, these parts don't really grab me. They seem more beg./int. and I only watched some of it and did not do the workouts so I could be wrong.

Dislikes: Not too much to dislike on this one. The 2nd part the step is placed vertically. I did not like this section as much. More dancy with a lot of turning around and not as intense of a routine as the 1st part. I did some of my own stuff on this part. The cool down was kind of strange, but I never do cool downs anyway.

Overall, this is a good step dvd. I think most find this a lot of fun and I am looking forward to doing it again!:)

I have all of her tapes and if you are planning a purchase I would recommend the Fantastic 4 DVD. You are getting the best of her work, imo.

The Totally series is definitely the "easiest" of her complexity.

The Solid Gold Series has some great moves, but alot of people gave these mixed reviews, alot of TIFTing and almost no cool downs.

Still Steppin and Still Jumpin are major parties in a box! Great music and everyone is literally just having a great time!

CIA 9801 is some earlier work, but this is probably her most complex.

The Happy Hour series is right up there with 9801 in complexity, maybe even better cued, imo.

The Heavenlies are her best bar none, great music, fantastic choreography, very complex but her backround people make everything doable. Personally, I use these as a gauge to how good her new stuff is.

Christi is considered to be less "athletic" and more "dancy" in style than Cathe. To me it just boils down to personal preferences...

I love Christi's workouts. I agree that Totally Hot Cardio is so fun. If you are looking for step, Totally Cool Step and Solid Gold Step are great.

For a more advanced step workout with killer choreography, Patrick Goudeau's BEST Step. Wow, I still can't get the whole thing and I am pretty good at picking up the choreography.

Love all her step workouts but by far I think Step Heaven is the most fun...probably followed by Solid Gold Step which I just started TRYING to learn...:p
