What is Wrong with the Time saving 5 day dvd??

I am looking for a Cathe "program" or series to get and this one just is getting no bids on Ebay and there are a lot of sellers out there while the 4 day program is going for about $65-70. Is the 4 day one that much better? Does everyone know something I don't about the 5 day time saver? Is it THAT bad so that it doesn't warrant any bids? Would I be disappointed if I bought it?

I think some are selling it because they have 4 day split and are looking to get extra money to pay for STS. I personally don't have it and have been watching the ones on ebay too. I don't think there is anything wrong with it. It's just a combo of the BodyBlast seris. Now might be the best time to buy it off ebay.

When you refer to the BodyBlast series, can you tell me more about the intesity of that series? I am looking for something really tough. Also, would you happen to know if I need to buy any new equipment for that dvd? BTW- Thanks for the response :)

There are a lot of bootleg copies of Cathe DVDs on eBay, Timesaver being one of the most common. So often there are more copies than buyers. Buyers are becoming more hip to the game of bootleg copies and honest buyers tend to steer clear of suspected bootleggers, leaving their copies unsold.

Good thought. Other than seeing if they have more than one copy to sell, is there any good way to figure out if it is a bootleg?

No just check there rating and read the feedback. I think ebay has done a good job of getting rid of the bootleggers. There aren't as many people selling Cathe DVD's as there use to be. Two years ago there would have been 3 pages of Cathe DVD's now only one.

Body Blast seris is pretty intense. All of Cathes are to me. You can go to the dvd page and read about them and it tells you all the equipment you need and you can also read reveiws. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice. I looked up Body Blax on the Updated Ultimate Guide to Cathe's Workouts" and didn't see it listed. What would you give it on a sclae of 1 to 10 if you don't mind? Would I be better off with IMax, IMAX2, IMAX3 or Hardcore Extreme?

Irish, the I-Maxes and Hardcore Extreme are very, very different from Timesaver. The I-Maxes and HC Extreme are almost totally cardio, and interval cardio at that, whereas Timesaver includes 5 workouts comprised of shorter cardio and a 1-2 body part weight training cycle per workout, so that by the end of the 5 workouts you'll have hit all the major muscle groups once. (There are also 2 core routines as well.) The cardio on Timesaver is more moderate in intensity than the I-Maxes and HC Extreme.

"Body Blast" is actually the name of the overall series from which Timesaver's footage was derived.

thank you. I am just getting started navigating all of these dvd's --there are just so many it is hard to figure out what is what! I just want a simple program to follow without having to buy a ton of dvd's. I want everything in one package (weights and cardio) so I don't have to think- just do : ) maybe that is too much to hope for : )

Timesaver is a compilation DVD with a bit of extra weight training material tacked on.

4 Day Split is in its own league. It is not a compilation, but you do have a ton of premixes.

Cross Train Express is another great program.

Irish,

As far as looking for one Cathe "program" you might be looking at it the wrong way. It may be easier to tell us how much money you'd like to spend and exactly what you're looking for whether it be weights, cardio, how many days you want to workout, what equipment you currently have. Even though there are series like "Body Blast Series" or "Intensity Series" these aren't really "programs" in the strict sense of the word, they are merely groups of workouts Cathe put out at the same time. That being said, with the weight training dvds I do find those to be more beneficial if done together, ie. doing the 3 Gym Style weight training workouts as a "package". Hope that makes some sense! Picking a Cathe dvd can be daunting!

I have the Timesaver dvd just b/c I felt like I "had" to have it, however since I have all the other dvds that comprise the Body Blast Series too, I dont do the TImesaver that often. It does have some extra footage for the weight segments so I think getting it if you dont already own the 3 dvds in the Body Blast series is worthwhile, but for me I dont reach for it too often.

Happy Shopping!

Re: ebay bootlegs of timesaver:
Both times I've bid on that dvd (different sellers, months apart) I lost but got "second chance" offers from both sellers and neither one had bad reviews. To me, that's a red flag that the discs weren't legit. I'm VERY select who I buy from on ebay now and I personally wouldn't touch a Timesaver dvd unless I bought it directly from Cathe or one or 2 other well trusted venders because of the bootlegging.

Finally, if you do a search in this forum re: Timesaver you'll find some very honest reviews of that workout dvd. I'd pick another one to start with--Amy's recommendation of Cross Train Express is perfect. Easy choreography, tough but FUN workouts, some impact but easy to modify and AWESOME weight work. Each workout is less than an hour long. I love that set! Pricy but worth every penny!

Chocolate IS the answer, regardless of the question.

Thanks for the message! What I have right now is a basic step, hand held weights/dumbells 3pd 5pd 10pd 15pd, 20pd, a pull up bar and a barbell bar. What I would like to do is both weights and cardio. I want to work out 5 times a week (or 4 some weeks when I have a night class I teach). I have 4 more weeks of P90X to go and I want to keep the muscle mass I have gained but do a more sustainable program (6 days a week is just not realistic for me every week-it has been very hard to juggle kids/work/teaching,etc.) I also want to burn the rest of the fat off that is still lingering (I know some of this is tightening up my diet more x( )I don't want to spend a ton of $; maybe $150 tops for everything. I also don't want to have to do a lot of guess work as to what parts of what video I watch, etc.

So, with all of that can you give me some suggetions? :7

Thanks in advance, you gals have been very supportive to a dumb newbie!!

Thanks so much- now that I have figured out WHY I haven't been seeing some of the dvd's mentions ((stupidly, I didn't realize that there were several pages of dvds-not just the first one  )) I am going to spend some time studying the pages of dvd's and then cross refeerncing all of the advice I have gotten so far as well as the "Ultimate Guide". Hoepfully with that I will be able to come up with a few things that will work for me!

My opinion:

Absolutely nothing is wrong with the Body Blast Timesaver DVD. This was my first Cathe workout, and I was amazed and inspired. I sold mine eventually only because I wanted to buy the full Body Blast series. (I did the same with Hardcore Extreme. I loved the mixed-up workouts but decided I wanted to buy the full workouts, so sold Hardcore Extreme.)

If you already have the full DVDs of Step Blast; Step, Pump, and Jump; and Kick, Punch, and Crunch then you probably do not need the 5-day DVD (probably why some people sell theirs). But if you are just starting with Cathe and don't have these workouts, then the 5-Day timesaver is great!

Have a good day,
Dawn

I also used the Timesaver when I was new to Cathe. The step routines were short enough so I could learn them. It was easy to pick up other Cathe routines. I love the whole Body Blast series.
