Cathlete
I really did not want to become addicted to Cathe, but it looks like I'm close to it! I haven't been able to stop using the Step Heat tape for the past few weeks. :+ And now I bought all of her other step tapes. And I got my sil "hooked", and gave her my Basic Step one. And lo and behold, we were skimming through the "upper and lower body" workout (which I thought I wouldn't ever want, since I do my own wt workouts)...but they looked like fun, and now I WANT some of her advanced weight tapes to try for myself! oh shoot! lol
So, can someone help me understand the differences in the FOCUS of each of her main "series"? there are so many. I think I have some guesses, but am not sure? Are they basically all the same, with twists for variety? or are they each targeted to a specific end goal?

CTX-
focus is Circuit Training, I understand that one, at least. lol I don't think I need this, as I have enough cardio now. I really want a mainly weight work series.
Slow & Heavy:
Focus = I have this one figured, and it's how I usually like to work out (along with endurance type also).
But, can you do the Lower Body work in this series, WITHOUT the "weights", and still reap benefits with the type of excercises she does (I can't see the clips on my comp)? I can no longer use weights while squatting, my knees are just too fried. Also I can't use heavy barbell work now, my flooring is just not right for it anymore. How "heavy" is heavy here (upper body)?
Intensity Series:
Focus = endurance/definition cutting
Body Blast:
Also somewhat unclear about the focus here (compared to S&H, CTX, and Intensity). I see it has some cardio. But, how is this "different" from the other series mentioned? (I do see the kickboxing addition). Is this like an Extreme Circuit? lol
Gym Series:
Focus: I'm hoping this is just a straight forward weight workout. Right?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My weight work consists of dumbbells, barbells (upper body only, but now my flooring won't allow for it), weight station work. I am intrigued to give her "band work" a try, as I've never done it, but it looked fun. But part of me wants to stick with "what I know" (straight forward dumbell work).
My main concern is that whatever "series" I go with, not have a lot of "high impact" moves in the cardio (unless they can be modified and still beneficial). That's why I'm leaning toward the Gym Styles, I think? I'm not sure if I want the circuit series, since I have enough cardio now. So, what to do here? I'd rather get an entire "series" on dvd, as opposed to trying out seperate vhs tapes. I need help! lol So, is Gym Styles endurance (light wt, tons of reps), or strength/mass (like S&H)? or somewhere in between? aaargh! I really don't want to end up buying them all (as I did with the step ones! :+ ) I'm just not sure what I want now. I think I want a mass/strength one AND an endurance one, but no circuit, and nothing that is just "in between". So, should I go with the Intensity Series AND S&H?
I hate making decisions. x( Helllllpppp! I want to pick 2 "series" to start off with. Which 2 should I go with? My goals are basically to maintain. I'm 5'6", 130, lean muscle, but I can build too much if I'm not careful, which is why I do a lot of lighter wt/high reps. I hurt my knee several years ago, and then really killed my one knee last year. So, I've had to stop using weights for any lower body work. Squats and lunges are fine without wts added. Jumpy moves are a no, but I try to modify. I DO really love squats and plies though. The more...the better. I like repetition on a particular move. I could do lunges and squats all day. lol Seems like nothing now that I can't use the weights. So, would the series with Legs & Glutes be the one I want? or?
