that sets her at such a high standard. I mean I keep trying other instructors but they just aren't Cathe. Just doing one workout with a different instructor makes me miss Cathe's style and intensity. Do you all feel the same? I wish Cathe did all types of workouts: pilates, bare, yoga, etc. because I would buy them all.

I think it's the intensity (which for me, can be a bit to much at times) of her workouts, and just her personality in general. I've tried to click with other instructors, but just can't seem to do it.

I also wish she'd branch out in other types of workouts like pilates, yoga. Maybe one day she will.

I like working out with Cathe a lot but have also started reaching out to other instructors. Cathe is definitely my "go to" for strength but lately I have been doing more barre, pilates and fusion workouts. Ellen Barrett has become a favorite as has Suzanne Bowen and Leah Sara....--Release and Warrior--instructors. I have come to like a little variety but only when it involves workouts other then strength. I also like P57 tho many find the instructors annoying. But I have been working out with Cathe for more years then I would like to count so at some point you need a little change. Still think Cathe is great but I am not focusing on strength and intense cardio as much as I used to.

I totally agree...I love her style

I haven't found anyone who can make me 'pump iron' and get my heart rate sky high like her. I haven't seen anyone match her personality either.

I adore Cathe and her work outs but I crave variety. I need it in my exercise routine so I am always using atleast 2 instructors for every rotation I do! Right now I am using Slim Series, Tonique, BBL and assorted Kickboxing work outs (Cathe, Kelly, TJ, etc) all in the same rotation and I love it! :D I get bored if I stick to one instructor only...even Cathe as awesome as she is!

For me, it's definitely a combination of the intensity of her workouts, her impeccable cueing, her energy, and her sense of humor. Even when I'm gasping for breath, I find myself smiling or laughing in each of her workouts. Also, music is a huge factor for me and I love her workouts that have recognizable songs; they keep me motivated! I find that with other workouts, if the music is blah then I dread doing the tapes.

I agree with the other posters in that variety is important but I still have yet to find an instructor I like as much as Cathe.

Funny you started this thread. I'm on week 3 of Fitness Freak's Get Ready for Summer rotation and many of the workouts in the rotation are some I haven't done in a very long time. I was telling my husband I forgot how challenging these old workouts are. I like a variety of instructors, but Cathe is by far the most intense instructor in my video library.

Sorry, not trying to hijack here but I gotta ask if you don't mind...weren't you doing a Tonique rotation? Did you finish it? What did you think of it?

TIA!:)

I was going to, but decided to do FF's rotation instead. I tried Tonique 1 and it's challenging. I'm not sure I want to do a full week of it as I originally planned. I think it would bore me to tears. I would rather do Insanity in it's place. I might use it next month when I move on to Gym Styles and Pure Strength as a second leg day.

I love the intensity, great cueing, and good energy. Also, my husband perfers her because she is one tough mamma and practices what she preaches by doing the entire workout.

The workouts come naturally to her. Some instructors just drive me crazy with the over the top encouraging and the whoops.

Gotcha. I got Tonique2 as an early B'day gift and just ordered the other 2 work outs as gifts to myself! ;) I like what I've done so far. Got some awesome DOMS from it! :) Combining it with BBL for some killer lower body work!

I totally agree!! I feel even more inspired working out with her after meeting her in person!! She is sooo fun, funny, friendly and extremely personable! Her workouts are just like Cathe!!

I agree that she is consistantly challenging, no matter WHAT workout you do of hers and to me, she also exceeds anyone else I've ever done. Another thing I've noticed is that the majority of the time, the production of her workouts are WAY superior. The cueing, the camera work, the music.

I completely agree - ever since I tried Cathe's workouts, no other ones compare anymore! The tons of DVDs I have are basically collecting dust right now and I used to buy them like crazy but now I don't because I have all Cathe's (mostly downloads). I just love her personality and the choreography. The workouts are all challenging and they just get better and more fun each time you do them - even if you can't make it all the way through yet. I find Cathe very motivating. I love the strength training - I don't think there are any others out there that really match hers. I love the kickboxing and step too - so many different options!
