I'm about to order some more of Cathe's workouts. Can somebody tell me if Imax 2 has alot of stepping? Is it very tough? Difficult steps to learn? What do you think? Cathe is the best!
Joan

Imax 2 is awesome! Do you own Imax 1? In my opinion, and alot of other people,Imax 1 is harder.
There is probably no more stepping then her other videos.Alot of the intervals use the step.Unlike Imax1, you don't do the same move over and over again. Its usually a couple of moves put together. The music is great as well.I think that I max2 is my favorite right now. Some intervals are harder then others.5,7 and 9 are the toughest and I find 10 a bit difficult to.
Just as well for you to get it.If not you will only be thinking about it till you do.You won't be disappointed,

IMax2 is wonderful! It's my favorite workout these days. It is nearly all on the step, though there are parts of some of the blasts that have you doing things off the step. I don't think the choreography is difficult to learn... at least it wasn't to me. But then I'm pretty familiar with Cathe's style so I guess it would depend on how familiar you are with her moves. The music in this workout is terrific and I find it highly motivating. A great, super intense but very fun workout in my opinion - I strongly recommend it! ;-) Have you read any reviews at Videofitness.com? That may give you a better picture.

Hi Joan,

I agree with Lorihart and LizzieLiz. Imax2 is a great workout!

The step sections aren't difficult at all to learn. Cathe's cuing is outstanding and she encourages you the entire way through.

One thing I noticed about myself when I do this workout is that I really sweat! :)

If you get it, you won't be dissappointed!

Get the DVD! Go buy a DVD player if you don't already have one! I mean it. The DVD gives you IMAX2 and Cardio & weights, plus some great premixes.

I also think IMAX2 is great fun. It seems easier than IMAX-1 but I'm wondering if it is put together in a way that just makes is seem like its easier. I know that sounds - well dumb... but an example would be the tuck jumps. I can do them in I-2! Its like the moves before the tuck jumps get my body all wound up and ready to spring and boing, a tuck jump!

If you are familiar with Cathe's Step combos then the stepping will be easy. If you haven't done much Cathe step, it may take a little time to get the routine's down. But not too much time. This is also true for C&W. The step routines are longer and Cathe does break them down some, but not a great deal. C&W is really really fun.

What is Imax 2 like?
Imax 2 is just about the most fun you can have doing a video-- great choreography, great music, great intensity.
I don't know if it is easier or harder than the first Imax. I guess it just depends on the interval. I know my husband shouted to me from upstairs "Are you ok down there?" Guess I was really sucking air.
I picked up the choreography the first time through.
Get the DVD, because it also has Cardio+Weights-- another one of the best video workouts of all time!

I agree with all the others. IMAX 2 is a BLAST and it I think it only seems a tad easier than IMAX 1 because you are having so much FUN. I really think it is just as hard but it's so fun it doesn't seem as hard! But IT IS!! :p

Cardio & Weights is a BLAST too! I totally agree with those who say to get the DVD! It is soooo worth it!!

Where is my Cathe????

This makes me SO jealous! }( I could not order the intensity series in the pre-order b/c I had no $. I have been reading ALL of these terrific reviews, saving my pennies and I am DYING here. Being the mom of 6 and my hubby is the main breadwinner $ is not free flowing. I had to skip the last series of tapes too. I am a fitness instructor and have been working out with Cathe since '92 ( my first tape was the Home Step Workout with Cedie and Cathe's sister, BTW does anyone else have that I never see it mentioned) so I have been saving the little bit of $ that I can from my classes. FINALLY I saved up enough to order last Monday. Trying not to feel too guilty about spending that $ on ME instead of on something else we need. But I NEED my new Cathe's! Now I am waiting and waiting. UPS guy pulled up today and I thought WOO HOO :D bootcamp here I come. Only to find out he was looking for the neighbor. The utter desolation;( alas no Cathe . boo hoo sorry for rattling on I just knew you guys would understand!

My pal Jill (jillianh) convinced me to do IMAX2 for the first time yesterday and I absolutely loved it! GREAT music, fun step portions and motivating intervals. The thing that makes it seem easier than IMAX for me is that many of the intervals are done on the step so it isn't as tough on the joints. My feet and knees feel fine today, which is generally not the case after IMAX. I'd definitely recommend the DVD!!

I agree with all these posters. Imax 2 is the best of the new batch of vids, for me, it's the most fun you can have with an interval workout, and the music ROCKS!!! I sing along when doing this workout, can you believe it?!?!?!?!?! Just gotta join in singing, while gasping for air!!!!!!!!!!!

Love, love, love this tape. :7

Clare

Clare - I sing too!

So funny to read that you sing along - I do the same thing. It totally keeps my energy up!

;-)

"Time is tickin' away, I'm thinkin' about you... "

That's the song

"Time is tickin' away, I'm thinkin' about you... "

that second song is exactly where I get my energy and endorphin rush come flooding into my body and I start singing. You got it! :D

I agree with everyone else!! I love this workout!! Cardio & Weights is also terrific!! I absolutely love the music in both! Very motivating to have great music in a workout...:)

Ok, I LOVE IMAX 2 also!!! However, I don't know if I think it is easier. I definitly think it has a higher "fun" factor than IMAX 1 though. I am doing IMAX 1 on Thursday, so I will let you know then which is harder. I can't remember now, I have been stuck on IMAX 2 so long. I wish Cathe had put IMAX 1 and 2 on the same DVD. Wouldn't that be cool to get if you had neither?? That way you could mix and match all the intervals!!

I love it. I don't have IMAX 1 but this one rocks. I can't claim to be able to do all of it but it's a blast trying. Infact yesterday I was all set to do C&W cardio and started the warm-uo then went, "Nah, I'm going for IMax 6-10" I really find it so much fun because it's easy choreography...tough intervals and has recovery. You gotta try it!!!
