What Have You Done After Barry's Bootcamp

I've been doing a BB rotation for 8 weeks and I've gotten fantastic results. I hate to stop doing these workouts but common sense prevails.

For those who have done the Barry's Bootcamp what did you do next? I hope these guys make more sets!

What rotation's have you guys done using the Barry's Bootcamp workouts? I did them as is but I would do the nontreadmill cardio, then the weight portion, then the treadmill. These were tough but you'll get rid of any bodyfat if you pay attention to what you're eating.

I just started a rotation of Barry's Bootcamp on Monday. That cardio without treadmill is short but man I sure am getting DOMS. I've never got DOMS from cardio before! I guess it's all the plyo like moves. I'm already asking the same thing you are. What to do after. I thought I'd do another Jari Love rotation :)

I've just completed a second week of these workouts myself and I am hooked!!! I did the weight workouts, followed by the nonTM cardio.
I saved the TM workouts for my interval running days. These workouts are intense and will really deliver results. I'm thinking of focusing next on Cathe's GS series.

I love arms and abs the best of this series. I just finished 4 weeks of this and am in my recovery week. Gym style would probably be good to go into. That's what I was doing before I started this so I'm not sure yet where I'm going next.

BBC's are endurance based work outs. I would consider switching gears and getting into some strength training with heavier weights...possibly the GS series as others have mentioned. I am coming off of an X rotation and will be doing a BBC rotation starting monday. I like the concept of alternating between strength and endurance. It will keep the body guessing and alleviate boredom!

Just my 2 cents!:)

I did 3 weeks of BBC and now am doing 3 weeks of the GS series. Then I might go back to 3 weeks of BBC and then 3 weeks of S&H....:)

I did a P90X rotation after my last Barry's rotation. I'm doing a Barry's rotation now and for the next couple of weeks. Then it's off to Vegas for 5 days with no workouts (other than walking and some stretching).........and when I come home I'll probably concentrate on heavy lifting and lower reps. Too bad the new Cathe's won't be available when I get home!! I might do another X rotation in the near future.....that is......once my shoulders recover from the tons of pushups and mountain climbers in Barry's. I have a cervical disc injury and struggle with shoulder pain from too many pushups. I'm really not allowed to do them (per my PT & Doc) but I LOVE the way my shoulders look when I do them, so I usually live in a great deal of pain! Vanity!!! LOL

Thanks for the suggestion's everyone. So, Gym Styles it is!

Carole I graduated high school in 1979. I loved seeing you in the cowl necked sweater! :D

Hmmm...maybe I'll go back into a P90x rotation now. That's sounds like a good idea. I haven't done it in quite some time.

Now you have me thinking to try this collection hmm. How does Barry's Bootcamp compare in intensity to Cathe. Also I don't have a treadmill, will that make a huge impact on the cardio portion of the workout ?

>How did you set up the rotation using BBC? I have these and
>would love to know what kind of results you got?

I am interested in a rotation too! Please post one here so that I can get some ideas. I started these last week, but my workouts are going to be derailed until the end of this week. So any rotation I start will begin next week.

Also, how did your knees survive these workouts?

40something...I graduated in 1977, just loved those cowl necks too...:)

erinski...BBC's are fairly intense. To me, mostly endurance based weightlifting. The cardio on some are tough, but the Treadmill section I used my Elliptical without a problem.

Laura...I will post some rotations I found.

Donna...I only tried one cardio from Arms & Abs and it would be tough on the knees. I did mostly the Elliptical and ran for the other cardio.

I got these BBC rotations from the VF forum:

Arms/Abs
Butt/Legs
Chest/Abs
Shoulders/Back
Full Body

Day 1: Chest & Abs with Butt & Legs ...
Day 2: Long cardio/yoga/pilates/yogapilates fusion
Day 3: Shoulder & Bach with Butt & Legs...
Day 4: Long cardio/yoga/pilates/yogapilates fusion
Day 5: Arms & Abs with Butt & Legs...
Day 6: Long cardio/yoga/pilates/yogapilates fusion
Day 7: Total Body...
Day 8: OFF

I followed this rotation for 3 weeks:
Mon: Arms & Abs
Tues: Butt & Legs
Wed: Shoulders & Back (LOVED this one)
Thurs: Chest & Abs
Sat: Fullbody

I only did Fullbody once as I was missing my circuit workouts, but it used no weights and is TOUGH!

I need to tag this thread! I just started a P90X rotation and plan to do BBC after (yes, I know, that's 89 days away!;), but I still have to purchase them!).

I conversed with Joey from Barry's recently to get the Rotation from them. He said at the Studio, this is the order they do them:

Arms/Abs
Butt/Legs
Chest/Abs
Shoulders/Back
Full Body

However, both times I've tried this rotation, I found it to be too taxing on my shoulders - from all of the mountain climbers, burpees, and pushups day in and day out and also - too much plyo day in and day out. The non-treadmill cardio has so much plyo in it that it's too much for your legs.

Now when I do them, I usually put a straight day of cardio in between the full body and shoulder/back workout and sometimes between another one - if I feel I need it. I have been using the treadmill only twice a week (just starting to get my body used to running and it flares my sciatica). When I do the non-treadmill cardio 2 days in a row, I modify some of the higher impact and plyo on the rebounder and it actually gets my HR up higher and helps a bit with the impact.

With the weighted segments, I usually start as heavy as I can and have a lot of different sized DB's out and it usually ends up that I do "drop sets". I feel this works well and it also changes it up from just being a high rep workout.
