what has cathe taught you?

Cathlete
she has taught me that intensity is most important and that heavy weights don't matter if your form isn't right

She taught me the right way to exercise. I had tried a few times to get into shape by joining a gym, but I'd go and workout for hours at a time, but never really see results.

Intensity, yes...determination, discipline, and most importantly - she taught me to enjoy exercise and that there was a jock buried deep inside the girl that was always picked last in gym class.

I knew this before finding Cathe but she illustrates it so beautifully, I love her ability to motivate through humour and example. Some instructors, teachers....never get this, you can't berate to motivate, positive re-inforcement gets people to dig deeper into themselves more than negative re-inforcement. I love the way Cathe motivates through positivity and I try to emulate that.

When I was instructing classes I stole from her unabashedly so she also taught me to be a better fitness instuctor. You can't help it when you watch and learn from THE BEST!

Take Care
Laurie:)

She has taught me also that exercise is fun. And something I actually look forward to. She has also taught me that you definetly get out of it what you put in to it.

Cathe's absolutely reinforced to me:

1. strong is sexy (stolen from someone on these very forums)

2. you can still be cute while kicking someone's as* }(

I could have written Laurie's post. (Okay, Laurie put it beautifully and I never could have done that, but my sentiments are the same...)

And, I *love* the "you can do anything for a minute" philosophy!!! I repeat that to myself not only while exercising, but in life as well... ;-)

What has Cathe taught me? She has taught me that ---

Yes, I CAN!!!!

I can do anything for a minute.

8 more WILL NOT kill me (but can we count faster?)

Muscle on women is sexy

Just because I worked out with her for an hour doesn't mean I can eat all the Krispy Kreme's/Haagen Daazs/McDonald's I want to

Hard exercise is fun, but to take it easy when I need to

and most importantly, that is doesn't matter if I'm as strong as her or as fit as her, as long as I am trying MY best, and doing the best I can do. Because being me is just fine, and to like myself the way I am, and to say "phooey" to anyone who doesn't think I am fine the way I am. To be MY best and not someone else's version of what they think I should be!

Nan

(woah, that got a little mushy at the end, sorry!)

strong and healthy is way sexier then getting into a smaller size and being weak

Cathe has taught me several things:

During workouts, take a break, not a Vacation!

I Can Do Anything for a Minute!

"If I cheat, I am only cheating myself!"

> .....she taught me to enjoy exercise and that there
>was a jock buried deep inside the girl that was always picked
>last in gym class.

Ditto!!

I have NEVER had FUN like this before when working out. I hate dragging my tired body out of bed most mornings, but I love to see Cathe and the crew, I love the way she makes me work hard, I love the way my body feels afterwards and all day long.

I love Cathe's encouragement to be strong and powerful, yet she also stresses balance and listening to your body. Sometimes I feel like a broken record saying to myself and others "listen to your body", but it really does guide you.

Cathe absolutely rocks!!

:)

That you can be over 40 and have 2 kids and still look great. That being strong is wonderful. That I can do straight leg pushups.:) She continues to be a great source of encouragement for me.
