what has cathe taught you?

~ To laugh when I have an 'out of body experience'
~ That I can do ANYTHING for a minute :7
~ I have to put into it what I want to get out of it, I have to earn it!

Most of all she has taught me to love working out.

number one thing has to be that i can do anything for a minute. that little motivational phrase has worked its way into many areas of my life!

she's taught me that fitness and health are ongoing processes that need to be taken seriously and worked at, and the benefits will be outstanding!

I've also loved hard core cardio - I've hiked, biked and ran for a long time, but Cathe brought the joys of weight lifting to me. I love the strong toned feeling I get from lifting. Now if I could only find a few more hours in the day... :+

Hi Shelby!

I think Cathe is one tiny powerhouse!

It is amazing how such a tiny and cute woman can be such a slave driver!

I love her to death - I don't know what I'd do if she no longer made videos.....

There will never be another Cathe Friedrich. Never. She is a pioneer in the fitness industry and anybody who calls her workouts "girly" needs to must try to do one.

She may call the balance move in Body Max 2 "Balancing Snow Angels" (which sounds very girly), but those things are killer for me!

The Firm introduced me to weights and the fact that women could lift weights and not look masculine.

Cathe has taken over though. Her variety of weight workouts that are sequenced in different ways and are a balance between traditional and newer, innovative techniques make her the leading figure in the fitness industry.

I can't express how much respect I hold for Cathe.

She is down to earth and a nice person who does not act like the celebrity she is. If you have ever met Cathe personally, you can tell she is genuine and really cares about us.

She is an excellent business person who knows how to surround herself with experts. Her cast, her executives like Chris Williams, Greg Twonbly, The Step Company, etc.

If I were writing an academic paper, thesis or dissertation, I would cite S&M as an icon of the best practices of business.

Cathe's influence and practices extends beyond the boundaries of physical fitness.

She is a very astute business person and is highly intelligent and goal driven.

I agree! I am 52 years old and a mother. I feel 25 years young. I can go to places like South Beach and I look as good and feel as vibrant as women half my age.

And at certain parts of South Beach, you can show a lot! Topless at the beach or certain hotels is tolerated as are the tiniest of thongs.

I love it! I have never felt so happy with so little clothing on in my life! South Beach is primarily a town for the young, but I felt very at home. And to see the Art Deco District, the mansions on Bal Harbor and the home of the now deceased Gianni Versace was one of my dreams.

And since I love parasailing, I had to do that a few times.

Vegas seems to be a Disneyland for adults (although there are plenty of young people there).

I love the freedom and toleration found at both locations very refreshing. Probably since I come from the Bible Belt. I was raised in a church that thought dancing a sin!

I am not being conceited here; rather I sing the praises of athletic training.

It is easy to maintain and look good in your teens up until menopause.

Then even the thinnest woman can pile on weight and get a kegger without proper diet and exercise.

I've seen women who had beautiful figures in their 20s and 30s begin a gradual weight gain as menopause approaches.

I am post menopausal. Menopause was a breeze for me. No symptoms whatsoever. The time between my menstrual periods just got longer and longer. Then one day I stopped having periods. My last period was in November of 2001.

But it did not phase me at all - I embraced a new era in my life.

I did have bone loss on my first bone scan. But thanks to Cathe's workouts and Actonel, the bone loss in my hips repaired itself and the bone loss in my spine is almost back to normal.

But most importantly:

My husband jokingly calls me his Trophy Wife!

The above statement is a stupid quote from a Nutri System and meant to be tongue in (butt) cheek.
