what happened?

i have gained wate instead of lost. what am i doing wrong? i used to wiegh 130 with 271/2 waist now its more. am i eating wrong.

my usual meal is:
breakfast:eek:atmeal with blueberries or cream of wheat
lunch turky or tuna on one slice of wheat bread with an apple
grapes for snack
plain chicken with veggies and cantalope
no processed food

maybe i eat too many cheetos and need to drink more water? is it the fruit? whats up whith this!
 
Looks to me like you are not eating enough, which can be worse than eating TOO much. Your metabolism shuts down and stores every little piece of food you consome (processed or not) as fat.

How many calories a day are you getting?
 
i have no idea how many calories i am eating. i also have low sodium smoked almonds-yummy! what other foods do you suggest eating?

Try more veggies, especially green ones. A nice big salad before your lunch and evening meals will help fill you up, and provide some nutrients (vitamins, minerals and enzymes) that you might be missing. Adding some healthy fats from nuts would be a good idea as well.

It doesn't look like you are eating too much. In fact, you may not be eating enough calories, which can cause your metabolism to slow, which is why you have gained WEIGHT.

Other things besides diet can be involved: age and hormonal changes, activity level, etc.
 
i am 34 years old! i do love salads with baby spinach so there will be no prob of eating more of that. i do have that or broccoli for dinner but i will also eating at dinner. what about protien?

It's really hard to reply because you have not posted amounts, times, and other details. Post them and watch the replies fly in.

Also, count calories yourself.
 
Try counting your calories for a few days and let us know what you come up with. I am guessing it is low. If that is the case, we'll have TONS of food suggestions!!!:9 :9 :9
 
Something I noticed was grapes by themselves. You should never eat a carbohydrate by itself...always with a protein.

I agree with everyone else here. It appears you may not be eating enough.

shucks-i love grapes. what protein would u eat with them? its hard to say what my calorie intake is because of the wide variety of days and hours i work. if i get a lunch, i can quickly cram down a salad in 30min,15 min break small lunch,sometimes have to get up early and have a small breakfast. maybe only have protein in my 15 min. break?

Non-fat or low fat cheese is good with grapes.

You should really have a protein, carb and fat at every meal. If you do this...your appetite will stay under control and your blood sugar levels will remain level. I prepare my meals ahead of time and bring them to work.

This is my lower carb week and what I'm eating today:

-1/2 cup cooked oatmeal with 2 scoops protein powder
-5 oz turkeyburger, 1 cup asparagus, 8 cashews
-2 cups salad, 4 oz sirloin, 8 cashews, vinagrette dressing
-7 oz Orange Roughy, Broccolli, 8 almonds
- Protein drink, 8 almonds

This equates to approx 1300 calories and 180 grams protein. I am only 5 feet tall and little older than most of you and experiencing hormonal changes. You probably need more calories than I do.
 
I also agree with everyone... it looks like you are not eating enough food.

I personally would make the following adjustments:

B: Oatmeal w/ blue berries & a glass of milk
S: Grapes & some low fat cheese or yogurt
L: Tuna sandwich with 2 slices of Whole Wheat bread, Apple
S: Celery, Carrots, other veggies, 1-2 T. Peanut butter
D: looks fine!

Just my $.02! I'm sure other's will have lots of suggestions if you give us more detail about the quantity you eat. I would definatly recommend tracking your calories for a few days.

I just have to poke my nose in here and say, I love it that everyone's telling you to eat MORE, not less.

i like everyones ideas. i already add bb to oatmill but will start adding milk. also pb at snack and celery. today i will buy more yogurt and baby spinach,and other vegies,and tuna. i do have a yummy recipe for veggie soup. very easy to make. for dindin my grocery has fully cooked chicken breasts with 29g protein,2 carbs,0 sugar. its very good.

Maybe your weight gain is due to muscle gain, as muscle weighs much more than fat. And I agree with everyone in saying that you should keep track of calorie intake, at least for a couple of days. It's a good idea to see how much you're putting in everyday.
 
If you don't know how many calories you are eating I would suggest trying www.fitday.com. I had absolutely no idea what my caloric intake was and it helped me. It takes a little bit of time to figure out but is helpful.
 
my waist used to be 271/2.now it is 30. i used to way 130. now its 140. i do do weights so i usualy dont go by the scale but i dont think thats the reason cause i've also looked at my tummy. mostly waist and clothes fitting. i know kb will shrink my waist some but since tues. i have had pain on my rt side from bootcamp. i will try the web page you mentioned.thanks
