What do you want for Mother's Day?

MAYNARDSMOM

Cathlete
Aside from the spending the day with the kids - that's a given.

I have asked for a punching bag and a trip to get ice cream. Maybe the punching bag will help burn off the ice cream. :D
Plus a back rub from each of my boys (3 if you count hubby) one each night of the weekend.
That's not asking for to much is it?

Tami: The back rub is a great idea- might have to steal that one!

I want DH to take my 3 year old and 2 year old somewhere random (like the Dollar Store) and tell them to pick out a present for me. It's so fun to see what they treasure at this age. For Christmas this past year, DD bought me a hair brush from Walgreens. I love it. :)

i like the ice cream idea!!!

patti, that is so cute abt your brush!! i love it!

dh usually goes on a mini-spending spree for me at williams-sonoma! he's a keeper!

New Clothes! My DIL owns an upscale women's clothing store with fabulous jeans, tops, bags, and hats. I want somethings from there and since she will do the shopping for both my adult sons I am pretty sure that is what I will get. She was already asking me "Do you like this? What do you think of these?' Actualy I can hardly wait. She is an absolutely great person and I am so lucky to have her for a DIL.

This is going to sound terrible, but I'd really love a day where DH takes the kids to Grandma's, and I get the entire house to myself.

No kids, no husband, no laundry, no dinner, no errands, no appointments. Just me, the TV, a couple of good books, and some chocolate.

You definitely have a keeper, Kate, my dh would not have a clue at williams-sonoma :)

Mother's Day is typically visiting my Mom with the family and doing whatever she wants to do, which is to just have a nice lunch and hang out together. My birthday is about a week later so I get to look forward to my pampering on that day :D

I'll have what she's having!

Nan

30 pound dumbbells sound good to me too.

I also want a full day (sat or sun) completely to myself. No husband, no kid. Just me myself and I to do whatever I want w/o having to concern myself with anyone else.

For me!

I'll take the day ALL BY MYSELF! Unfortunately Sunday's are cleaning days :(

I haven't had a day all by myself in..........FOREVER! But, then I'd worry until they came home.

One question? How many of us haven't ordered workout stuff as gifts to ourselves to cover the next 14 holidays????? I'm only out my birthday this year (STS Cardio).

The last few years I have had the best of both worlds. My older children, now 21 and 16 take me out late lunch/early dinner, plus we have tacked on a movie or some shopping for fun while my DH takes care of my little guys - 5 and 3.

I am a SAHM so I get plenty of time with my little boys but it is really nice to go out with my older children and have good conversation without having to tell them to behave, cut their food and wash their faces!

I am hoping for the same this year!

You'd get over that fast. Trust me. :D

Oh man, with STS, STS Cardio, and the Power Tower, I think I'm way past Christmas. Darn it!

I would just like my 12 year old to not be embarrassed to walk beside me in public or when I talk to people or complain to get bad things re-adjusted! Not to mention when I talk to myself and sing in public..... A day in which they stop and reflect upon all that both my husband and I do for them, is that too much to ask?!?!?!?!!?!? Ha! Of course it is!

Eventually that'll come. The problem is, it takes for freakin' ever. I didn't fully appreciate my parents until I became one myself. Now I look back and think, "It's a miracle they didn't kill one of us." :p

Last mothers day my dh and dd bought me a polar watch. They were so proud and I was really happy. I would like a squat rack this year! Karen

I took May 8th off from work, and I am going to have a ME day -- no preschooler, no husband, JUST ME. I have already booked a hair appointment, what else can I do?

As for a "present" I would like either the valor squat stands or some sport sunglasses for outdoor running!
