What do you think?

Is tearing paper and cardboard the dog's fun equivalent of people popping bubble wrap? I can't believe how excited these clowns get when I finish a roll of paper towels or toilet tissue. Not to mention empty microwave popcorn bags, homework assignments, checks from the government...

WOW! You just reminded me of Maximus' puppy days. He loved dragging toilet paper all through the house. I can't tell you how many rolls he went through!

He hasn't done that in a very long time. I love reminiscing about his puppy days. They were very challenging for me to say the least. I sometimes miss his puppy antics. I guess I like naughty boys:p

It's been so long since I've had a puppy with a tail. Duke is nearly 12, and Cricket doesn't have a tail at all - she just wags her fanny. I love watching Buster's tail going - it's such a joyful sight. He's a pretty good boy, except for attacking my slippers and climbing up on the dining table.

I can hear from the racket above my head that he's somehow jumped the gate in front of the attic stairs and is probably raiding that cat box right now. Damn! I hate poop breath.

Hi,

My 10 month old lpup oves any paper...especially toilet paper rolls or paper towel rolls..I don;t mind him tearing them up, except he will eat the stuff!

p.s why do some dogs love to eat poop? My last male did this from when he was a puppy, not cat poop, dog...no matter what we tried. The female never did, and the puppy we have now has not done it so far thank God!

I've actually cut down on the number of dog toys I buy because a good, staple-free cardboard box makes my dog just as happy. :) Now I'm not the only one who gets excited when the UPS man visits.

Better still...

...watching our gerbils gnaw through a paper towel tube! They love it -- they hold it with both paws and chew it to confetti.

Unfortunately, they're doing that to DD's clothing! I keep finding holes in her clothes!

Fortunately, my golden retriever Ripken grew out of the fascination with toilet paper early on. Closing the doors to the bathrooms broke him of his delight in running through the house with the toilet paper when we weren't home. Oh those puppy days!

Now Ripken does love to open presents. Birthdays, Christmas, anniversaries are all a great delight to him. He still has a few present left from Christmas to open. The amazing thing is that the presents can stay wrapped under the Christmas tree, or on the floor in a corner of the living room and Ripken won't touch them until we give him one. Then he has the best time tearing off the wrapping paper.
