What do you guys live for??

What makes you wake up again and again every day and keep on going? What do you live for, what gives your life meaning? When times are tough, what keeps you going on?

Just curious.:)

Love. It's makes hope return when it seems to no longer exist. Joy. It's unavoidable when love is present and that's often in spite of oneself. Time Time heals all wounds and fades memories of hard times without you realziing it. It's better, it's better still and then here comes that happy soul who belongs in this body.

Hey Janice.

When times are tough and things are going on around me that I can't control, that would probably make me want to stay in bed indefinatley, I remember that God has a plan for me, and it's not all fun all the time. I try to do the next right thing,& in doing that I get peace and when I'm peaceful and happy, I can make my family and those around me happy too. And things like that help me to get out of bed in the morning and do it over and over again.:)

EVERYTHING! I love life, I love my life. My family, my husband, my job. I wake up everyday happy to be here. The alternative is not so good. :) ;-)

Though I don't believe in pre-destination and I have a belief that mostly matches Christianity but not any major organized religion, I believe that we're here to work things out, if not for ourselves then for others.

My wife and I have gone through some rough times and difficult parenting over the last 25yrs. We lean on each other. We lean on the successes of our kids, (twins 17yo).

The weather forecast today says it will rain until Friday, I can hope for a sunny day on Saturday. I guess I live for the sunny day that will eventually come.

I wake up because life is wonderful. I count my blessings every morning while I drink my coffee:

Excellent health
Fantastic husband
Great job
Sweet loving daughter and granddaughter
Adorable dogs
Beautiful home

Of course, there is stress but I know I've been able to deal with everything in my life and make the most of it.

This is something that I was thinking about just last week!

I've got SO many things that keep me going everyday!

Wonderful family (DH and DD-the rest are kind of crazy!)
The fact that my mother lives 1500 miles away!
3 wonderful "hairy" kids!
1 wonderful "grand"fish!
A great job that works around MY schedule!
A beautiful home!
GREAT health!
Awsome friends!

If you live your life with gusto, and think you have abundance, than the difficult trials are much easier to deal with!

Hope Everyone Is Having A Blessed Day!

I have a lot of great things in my life to be happy about & thankful for - family, friends, my health & happiness and the happiness & health of those around me. Regardless if times are good or bad, the show must go on : )

>What makes you wake up again and again every day and keep on
>going?

my boy, wanting to watch him grow into a mutifaceted being

>What do you live for, what gives your life meaning?

the thought that each day is a chance to laugh and work towards making things around and within me better

>When times are tough, what keeps you going on?

sheer stubbornness and the stark refusal to let anything or anyone make me crumble

It's true what they say, whoever "they" are -- what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. You do have to fight and keep working for that strength, however. It's not handed to you on a silver plate.;-)

Well, I am not hapy with my life right now, hate most of it in fact. What keeps me going are my two girls, celebrating their 9th and 12th birthdays this month. If it weren't for them, it wouldn't be worth chewing through the ties of my straight jacket every morning........!

ROTFL!!!!

Well, Clare, since I don't have children, now I know what my problem is!!! Thanks for the honesty!

Well........reading all your replies confirms that I am just as messed up as I originally thought. LOL.

What makes you wake up again and again every day and keep on going?

I love not knowing what's going to happen that day. Sure, sometimes it's awful, but sometimes it's SOOOOO good and surprising and wonderful.

What do you live for, what gives your life meaning?

My wonderful SO who puts up with all my crap, my beautiful daughter who is amazing every single day, my family, my incredible friends, my thoughts, my dreams.

When times are tough, what keeps you going on?

I've been through a lot in my life, deaths, break-ups, illnesses. It always gets better. Sometimes it gets worse before it gets better:p And I'm incredibly stubborn and won't let ANYTHING get the best of me.

Janice, this was obviously prompted by something. Would you like to share?

Here's the honest truth:

"What makes you wake up again and again every day and keep on going?"

Necessity. If I didn't get up every day and go to work, I'd lose my job and they'd come and take my house away when I stopped paying the mortgage.

"What do you live for, what gives your life meaning?"

Again, mostly necessity. But there's also an element of feeling fulfilled when I do a good job at work, and especially when client's give me great feedback. Then I feel like a million bucks for awhile. I also look forward to going out to dinner and trying new restaurants. But I would honestly enjoy going out to eat a lot more if my DH enjoyed it too, and wasn't so price conscious.

I also look forward to long weekends and working out.

"When times are tough, what keeps you going on?"

Tough times are what I excel at. I can always rise to the occasion when the going gets tough. For me, the hard part is the everyday mundane stuff. That's my biggest challenge.

"What makes you wake up again and again every day and keep on
going?"

The simple fact that every day I wake up is a gift. It is in my power to make the best or worst of it. No matter how bad things may seem there is always something positive to be gained by attempting the day.

"What do you live for, what gives your life meaning?"

I live for many things.
Mostly for my husband who is also my best friend. In ten years together he and I have lived through lifetimes of tragedies and events that should have beaten us to the ground. We made it through because of our unwavering devotion to one another.

My life is given meaning not by the challenges I am faced with, but by my perserverance in overcoming them.

"When times are tough, what keeps you going on?"

It is not in my nature to give up. Ever. I am a fighter through and through. I would not be here right now if I weren't.
