what do you do when you are pregnant

I am not pregnant and have no plans of it for the next few years. But may be in 2 years I will start to think about it and I wonder how do you work out when you are pregnant? It's too bad Cathe doesn't have a workout for pregnants women. I know that it changes depending on which month your at...

Anyhow, I think you are not suppose to jump? What else you can't do or what are some suggestions based on your experience?

Also, after having the baby, after how long do you get back to working out?

Just curious to have your experiences

thx:)

Why don't you mosey on over to the Fit pregnancy forum and see what the moms-to-be there are doing? Myself, I did nothing but sleep and eat when I was pregnant and I was a huge cow. I weighed 208 lbs when I was 9 months pregnant. It wasn't pretty:p

It all depends on your body, how you feel, what your fitness level is like before pregnancy, and what your doctor seems safe (if you're high risk, etc.). Personally, I was out mowing grass until I delivered both my children in hot summer months. I also exercised regularly with both children throughout my pregnancies, but I toned down the impact level depending on how I felt and how far a long I was. The other posters mentioned some good advice- head over to the ob board and learn what they are doing. Take care and good luck...

Hi.

I took everything down to low impact (although I heard afterwards that this is not necessary unless you have a specific reason to do so) and made sure I did any weight work or crunches on an incline. I also did not try to increase my weights. Other than that it was business as usual. I was working out 6 days per week pre-pregnancy so I continued to do so while I was pregnant and did not have any problems. As a matter of fact, I did not even DISCOVER Cathe until I was a few months pregnant! What timing, right!?! :p I made the transition from Firmie to Catheite in the first months of pregnancy. It actually probably made it easier as I didn't try to do all of the power moves right away. I was able to get used to her choreo and style, etc before ramping up the intensity. :)

HTH a bit.

I could have written Shelley's post. I ate and slept as well. Probably not too good but hey, I enjoyed myself. I think it was 6 weeks before I started back to exercise again. I also attribute my fast bounce back to breastfeeding. Good Luck.

My babies are 25 and 22 so it has been awhile but I had a great doctor. He told me to keep doing everything that I have been doing-don't start anything new.

After the baby, I started taking the baby for walks right away.
