What do you do when DH is out of town?

Now I know that I'm a certified fitness nut! DH was out of town last week and what did I do after I put the kids to bed? Watch a chick flick? Take a hot bath? Have a drink? NO! I spent the evening in my basement every night jamming to really long exercise vids, like Body Max and the old Jane Fonda Challenge workout. Sad, huh? But that seems to be the only time I can devote an hour and a half to exercise. Otherwise, when he's home I feel guilty if I'm working out more than an hour!

I seem to workout more whem mine is out of town too! Although what I enjoy the most...is cleaning the house and having it STAY clean for a few days....:)...Carole

My DH has been out of town for a week now. I have definetely spent more time working out. It is great!!!

I have also done a lot of shopping. What a blast. Took the kids shopping for some spring and summer clothes and bought myself a few pair of shoes and some skirts for work...

I feel soo free.. I do miss him a lot though... He is only going to be gone 2 weeks this time, but leaving in May for 3-6 months to Iraq.. I should be in the best shape of my life by the time he gets back from that one. I am already sad thinking about him going..

Have a great day!!

I tend to workout more when DH is out of town. I will do my normal workout but then later in the say I may do another one. He is gone now for 2 days but I have to work tonight so I can't workout again. But tomorrow I may.
I also enjoy having the house clean for a few days.Although my brother is staying here all week so there is still a man flaoting around.

I love when my husband's out of town! He was lamenting that I don't miss him at all and I don't. When I leave, that's a different matter, but when he's gone, I do all the things I do when he's here but much more leisurely! I had a pedicure and went to lunch on Saturday and instead of coming home and busting my hump to be sure everything was in order, I kicked back and enjoyed the chaos. He can't stand the noise and mess of three kids and I always try to keep things on an even keel when he gets home. He's only been a dad for 15 years, so he may come to terms with it someday. LOL! The best part, is I don't cook a proper meal the whole time he's gone. He's only been gone for 5 days but it's been very relaxing for me. And all he can think of is jumping my bones because 5 days is like 5 YEARS in man-time! LOL! I'm picking him up tonight.

"Jumping my bones"...what a funny expression! I like that one :)

Hubby is actually going away for a few days in May and as much as I love the very ground he walks upon, I like the idea of getting some time on my own and enjoying a very tidy house whilst he is away and definitely NO cooking either! Going out with g/friend and staying over at her place after having 1 too many glasses of wine would normally be top of the agenda but on this occasion, guess I'll have to skip the wine what with baby on the way now!

PS what does DH actually stand for...maybe its an Americanism?

My dh just left today. So we will be having a FONDUE party tonight for supper:D My kids (I have 4) just LOVE having these (Partie's ha ha) Last time we had one my dd whose four told everybody at the dentist office "Tonight we are having a fondue party" Nobody knew what one was so I had to explain. It's a take's us 2 hours to eat, but it's fun.

I love it too when the husband leaves for a few days. I eat what I want, when I want, no doing anything for anyone, because when he goes, it means the kids go too: he takes them away for 10 days on his own every Spring break, so that's coming up in three weeks time. I usually spend the evenings watching back to back episodes of my favourite series that I can't watch since I don't have cable, and I don't watch them at any other time because he thinks it's pretty shitty stuff or just too girly: Like Sex and the City and Six feet Under.

Total pleasure doing what I want and nobody there to snifff at it!

Pure pleasure, but I feel very lonely going to bed at night without him to chat to and give me warmth. I love it when he turns to cuddle me throughout the night....makes me feel that maybe, juust maybe, the world won't fall apart after all.

I always order a giant platter of sushi from my favorite Japanese restaurant. My DH doesn't really like Japanese, and when he's around it's easier to just order from wherever he is ordering, but when he's gone it's Japanese all the way!

Hi Ladies,

After reading your posts. I noticed I have slept in the middle of the bed for the past week and have not cooked a decent meal yet...

One more week of fun for me!!!! ;)
