What do u eat on your "rest" day?

Do you guys and gals just stick to your normal weekly eating plan on your "rest" day or do you eat less or differently?

I know how much to eat when I have a "heavy" work out schedule for five or six days, but on my "rest" day, the thaught of eating the same BUT not exercising makes me feel quilty I surpose. PLUS, I dont seem to feel as hungrey anyway, so perhaps I should eat less!

Does that make sence?

RE: What do u eat on your

I follow BFL so my rest day is my free day and I eat whatever I want. Now tho I usually don't eat an over abundance of calories like I did the first few times, but I do eat whatever I am craving...and I don't feel guilty :)

Whatever I feel like making. Since it's usually a Sunday, it might be a larger meal. Or then again, I might be so sick of doing housework that we order out.

I usually have my rest day on Friday. We normally go out to dinner or do take out. I will order pretty much anything I want on the menu. I still try to eat somewhat clean the rest of the day though. This works well for me and I it's nice to look forward to a nice dinner at the end of the week.

If you're doing weight training, your "rest" day is also a repair and build day, so there would be no need to eat less because your body is still fueling muscle growth.

If you are not as hungry, then follow your hunger and eat less.

RE: What do u eat on your

I eat about the same as every other day. I broke that mental connection between a daily calories in/ calories out ratio because it just made food, or the lack of it, a reward or a punishment for how hard I had exercised that day. I found it rather demoralizing. I generally let hunger be my guide about food quantity; I refuse to feel starved and deprived. I eat very healthy, and rarely overeat, and that's the best I ask of myself.

I also found that my appetite seems to have a 24 hour lag; it's the day following a hard workout that I have a large appetite, and the day following the rest day I have the smallest. It all seems to balance out in the long run.

Cheers,
Sandra

I echo Sandra's thoughts. I pretty much eat the same day in, day out, regardless of whether I work out or not. Let hunger be your guide. And as Kathryn says, if weight training, you have to fuel for recovery and growth.
