what brand spin bike?

Ok, today I take the plunge and purchase a spin bike. I already ordered spinnervals and plan to order some coach cardio kindly reccomended here. I am confused w/ so many choices on the bikes. Lemond revmaster looks good. Anyone have bike suggestions before I put out big $$$$$? Thanks a bunch.
 
HEEELLLPPP. I can't decide which will be best. Of course every company says theirs is the best. I am looking for..

Quiet, stable, smooth, quality. Please, any reccomendations or even info on what NOT to buy?
 
I recently bought a Lemond Revmaster which is the bike that's used in many of the Spinervals workouts. I love this bike and have had no regrets. I did a lot of research prior to its purchase, and found it to be the best buy for the money. I got it w/free shipping from brandscycle.com.

Can you tell me if the Lemond requires a lot of maintenance? That is my only concern w/ that one.

Also, can you stand while you pedal?
 
I don't think it requires a lot of maintenance...The manual suggests to wipe it down when you sweat on it, and they included some oil I guess for the pads and stuff, but so far I haven't had to do anything.

And yes, you can stand while you pedal.
 
I put some of the oil on the brake pad periodically. This is what gives you resistance, so if you are doing a lot of high tension work, you will need to use it more. That's all I've done in the past year other than spray and wipe when I'm done.

It is a big investment. I looked at the revmaster and the star v bike but decided on a revmaster. I had a treadmill and when it broke I couldn't believe how much it was going to cost to have someone come to my house to repair it. That was one reason I chose a spin bike - no motorized parts! I can honestly say it's the best money I've spent. You probably would want to be sure you like cycling before you spend that much. However, I got mine without even taking a spin class. ( I sure was holding my breath that I'd like it after spending all that $;-) ) marnie
 
Thanks Marnie. I did take the plunge and ordered it. It's a lot of money and I too have never taken a spin class. However I am the type to do whatever needs to be done for a solid workout. Hate it or not, I would use it if it was beneficial. Thanks for your response. It helps to hear info from an owner. I can't wait for it to arrive!
 
Did you get it from brandcycle? You won't have to wait long! Go ahead and get some padded shorts or a gel seat cover, 'cause your butt is going to be sore the first few times on it!

No, I bought it from lemond fitness. I wanted a few extras that they make for the bike. I did purchase the gel seat cover and padded shorts. I found a site called team estrogin which sells cycling stuff. After my foot surgery [and the extra 10 lbs I have gained] [blush you would think I already had enough padding down there :)
